I've never seen the Yucca in bloom or up close. I didn't realize it was so lovely.

I had not paid much attention to them up close either until moving here where these yuccas are abundant, +Barbara Radisavljevic

I normally use it in cold salads. Sometimes I use it as a rice substitute with a stir fry dish. Never thought of making it in the crockpot.

I see we have some common goals with our gardens.  I also like to encourage birds and beneficial insects with my plant choices. One of my favorite plants for the bees is rosemary, which seems to  always bloom when almost nothing else does.

Great to meet another gardener who loves to encourage wildlife :) Yes I like Rosemary too, it blooms well in the summer here and the bees love it.

That's a nice, lush garden. I don't think we ever stop playing with our gardens.
A very tidy herb garden (Aston, PA). I used HDR techniques to achieve this photo.   Still can not decided if I like it or not.  I guess I'll continue to play.

Paso Robles A-Z: A is for Amsterdam Coffee House
So many bloggers are doing A-Z  challenges, I thought I'd join the fun. In a city like Paso Robles, it should not be at all hard to find sights for every letter of the alphabet. So we will start with the Amsterdam Coffee House on 13th Street. Amsterdam is a...

Introduction

I have lived in and loved California my entire life and now reside on its beautiful Central Coast. The longer I live in San Luis Obispo’s North County, the more contented I become here. Most of my waking hours when I'm  not occupied with chores,  you will find me blogging, reading, walking around with my camera in hand, tending my garden, or dabbling in the local art scene. I hate shopping, and do it only if we will starve if I don't.

Bragging rights
I've been married to the same man for over fifty years and we have loved and been bereaved of two adopted children.
