Just returned my Asus Transformer Prime tablet because of a few issues, some technical, some just being pissed off at a company willing to screw their customers. And these issues could have been totally avoided had the Asus Engineering team used common sense when designing and testing the device!

The main issues with the current brand new Asus Transformer Prime are:

1. GPS does not work at all.
2. Wifi Range is horrible at long distances

The reason for these problems is an engineering design flaw with the back plate of the tablet being made of Aluminum. This material does not play nice with GPS/WiFi/Bluetooth. The result is GPS not working, WiFi range being limited and when you try to have all of these features turned on at the same time? Unexecpted results to say the least.

To add insult to injury, Asus decided to announce a new upgraded tablet at CES with only three new features. What are the three new features?

- 2.0MP front facing camera (current model has 1.3MP)
- Higher resolution display (most people will not even notice and there is contrversy on decreased battery life)
- Redesigned back to increase GPS/WiFi range. (This is a new feature? Don't fool us, this is a FIX from the previous)

This tablet should be released in the next few months which fixes the defects of the current tablet not even 4 weeks old! This is obviously a hardware bug fix release. Asus should be ashamed. I have lost a lot of respect for Asus with this poorly designed tablet that was supposed to be the king of all tablets! Shame on you Asus!

Can anyone confirm that Google fixed the UAString issue with Honeycomb and older versions of Android in Ice Cream Sandwich where the web browser reports you are a mobile device? This has to be hands down the most annoying stubborn setting that has yet to be fixed. I do not want a mobile version of any web site ever! I have seen instructions on changing this but it never sticks.

ya... i just tried that today as well..

the request desktop version wasn't quite same as the UA string.. not sure how is that. more testing is required. works most of the time.

I am getting this but I wonder why (assuming from the images) the speakers are on the back side? I currently have the Xoom that also has speakers on the back and it really screws up the sound unless you flip the tablet around where you cannot see the screen. Almost everything has been improved on this device from the first one from what I have read on paper except for speaker placement. Not happy about that. With that big ass bezel you would think they could have figured out a way to place the speakers on the front side or at least on the sides so the sound is projected in the correct direction towards the users ears. Looks like headphones are still a must.

Any developers out there making a TweetDeck like app for G+? Widgets? That is a huge missing thing for me.

I closed my BOA account today in favor of Ally bank because of the pending debit card usage fees. I was with BOA for over 16 years and they didn't even ask me why I was closing my account. Strange.

How do you share a purchased Google Music album on Google+? I do not see an option for it.

+Colin Stevens I am on desktop and it is available right when you purchase it. But if you do not share at that time, there is no way to go back and share the album again. The option is only there in the Market on purchase window.

New Google/Android stuff today that I found interesting…

New Google Reader interface rolling out today and should be complete tonight. The new interface makes it consistent with the latest UI changes across the other Google services like Gmail. I personally like it. Some things are lost which may make some unhappy.. but hurray for G+ integration:

New Google+ app released in the Android market brings some significant changes and UI enhancements. This was an unexpected release today. For me Google Apps email is finally supported! But Instant upload does not seem to work to Google Apps accounts if stored on external SD. Moving to the phone memory works around this problem for now. This update brings a more Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) look and feel. Check out the other changes:

Asus Transformer Prime with Nvidia quad-core processor will ship with Honeycomb but expect an Ice Cream Sandwich update shortly after release. It is expected to release on November 9. I find it interesting that we have not heard much about new tablets with Android 4.0 yet:

AT&T releasing another Galaxy S II with 4G LTE, bigger screen and faster processor already? Less than a month from the original Galaxy S II release which has a smaller 4.3 screen, slower 1.2Ghz dual core processor and slower HSPA+ 4G. I am not sure I understand this one.

In case you switched or are about to switch to a Google Apps G+ account, know that the Android app will not let you connect. Looking at the Google Market user reviews, it appears to be an issue for anyone trying to connect to Google Apps email. Hopefully Google will release an update soon!

I didn't eat in but ordered for pickup. This was my first order here and the first time I try a new Thai place, I usually order Pad Thai and Pad See ew and judge the place based on these two items. The Pad see ew is much better here than the Siam place down the road in Delray Beach. The Pad Thai is a close call with Siam. Overall, love the taste and will be trying other items in the future.

Had a great time here with my family. Only one beer on draft though and you cannot bring alcohol into the small game room with the pool tables which is a downer.

What can you really say about this small airport. Very easy in and out and lots of free parking. If you have not been, don't expect anything amazing but it is nice because you get to your gate in 5 minutes from the front door.
