Ok so the bar menu is good and they have one of the best burgers I've EVER had. However, we always have the same server & she never has a smile on her face, ever. In my opinion their drinks are waaay overpriced. I was in recently and was charged $8 for a simple gin & tonic. It's a cool spot with good food- but that's pretty steep for a neighborhood pub. Seriously.

Truly should be a four and a half. The food was excellent and authentic (as far as bar food can go). Great selection of domestics and micros. Our waitress was hospitable and did her job well. Will return soon!

Worst experience of my life..... I have always enjoyed the food. My one and only complaint is they have the worst customer service I have ever seen. My wife, son and I sat down at a booth. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge we were there and it wasn't even busy. Then she took our order and after waiting 5 minutes, and watching other customers get their order My wife got the servers attention and kindly asked for our drinks. The waitress threw her hands up in the air and yelled (I'm getting them twice before walking away.) Instead of calling her over and telling her how disrepectful that was I ignored it and ate my food. She never came back to the table until it was time for her to bring us the check and my wife calmly told her it was disrespectful to yell at a customer from the other side of the floor and she made even a bigger scene. This is a lady who also claimed to be a manager at the establishment. I walked up to the bar to talk to the manager behind the bar when she followed us up and would not shut up long enough to explain to the manager what was going on.In the mean time i had some crack head missing half of his teeth trying to defend the waitress by bad mouthing my wife... All the while the manager behind the bar is doing absolutely nothing. I'm in customer service , if that would have been my job , I would have been fired and if she is a manger there they need to figure out what is more important , customer service or keeping a waitress in her 50's trying to dress like shes in her 30's that claims to be a manager when she's probably just a waitress that has never left the bar.

Highly recommended. In San Francisco you can't get a burger half as good for twice the price.

Horrible!!!! Waitress was rude to me when I told her I had a group of ten. We were seated at a large table that was next to wait staff prep area. My friend, who is a small person, sat at that end and side of the table was asked to move her chair in and did the best she could with the amount of room she had to maneuver in. She was no longer in the way of the wait staff but when a patron shoved her chair as he passed by one of the waitresses thanked him. The worst part about it was that they treated my friend like she had committed some offense when they are the ones who decide where the table should be placed. In addition to that, they wasted 3 foot of floor space with a huge armed chair at the other end of the table. If they moved it or exchanged that chair for another this would never be an issue. The bbq beef tips were tough and not very good. As you can imagine we had a sizeable bill plus an automatic 18% gratuity that we sorted out who owed what on our own and then we were followed out by our server who insisted that we shorted her even though we left $2 more than what was owed. Will never go here again and will strongly recommend that my friends and family avoid it as well. After reading other posts here, it is quite apparent that since their tips are guaranteed with large groups they feel safe treating customers with complete disrespect. The only good thing about this place is the busboy. He was a very helpful and courteous person.

Who doesn't love a good burger? If you are a lover of all things meaty and manly, this is the place for you. O'Connell's takes a simple but delicious approach to burgers. There are no fancy garnishes, just deliciously flavorful burger patties (which are enormous) in a pub setting. Awesome place to grab a beer and a burger with friends - definitely gets loud in there, but it's a fun atmosphere!

We had a large group of people for a birthday dinner and the waitress couldn't have been more rude. I guess since she had her guaranteed tip she didn't care. She didn't refill sodas for kids without us asking, she didn't ask if we wanted any additional drinks. We had to ask each time. When we had questions, she wasn't polite at all with her responses. She didn't smile one time the entire time she waited on us. The food was very good, but I won't go back to an establishment that treats their customer's so rude. I asked for a manager and they said there wasn't one working. Not a good experience at all.

Ate here for lunch today. Got a cheeseburger. Prices were very reasonable and portions were good. Service was nice as my drink was never empty for more than a minute and yet she never "hovered" too much around the table. Would recommend to others. Their parking is quite small though but that can be expected with any popular restaurant.
