Burgers & comfort food are served in this homey, circa-1962 bar with an antiques shop upstairs.- Google
"Very small menu, but their burgers are great and the staff is friendly."

A classic STL burger and beer destination. The best (simplistic) burger in town. The have other bar staples as well. There are a number of micro brews available. Dive bar meets Irish pub atmosphere. Friendly staff. It's also important to note that O'Connell's is open during viaduct construction.

Really like this place. Very small menu, but their burgers are great and the staff is friendly. Would recommend anyone who enjoys a good burger. P. S. I do wish they'd get bacon though!

Truly should be a four and a half. The food was excellent and authentic (as far as bar food can go). Great selection of domestics and micros. Our waitress was hospitable and did her job well. Will return soon!

Great food, great service and great beer selection. Corned beef and rib tips were amazing. Small menu but excellent food. Wheelchair friendly and a great atmosphere. Will go again when I'm in the city.

Ok so the bar menu is good and they have one of the best burgers I've EVER had. However, we always have the same server & she never has a smile on her face, ever. In my opinion their drinks are waaay overpriced. I was in recently and was charged $8 for a simple gin & tonic. It's a cool spot with good food- but that's pretty steep for a neighborhood pub. Seriously.

Horrible!!!! Waitress was rude to me when I told her I had a group of ten. We were seated at a large table that was next to wait staff prep area. My friend, who is a small person, sat at that end and side of the table was asked to move her chair in and did the best she could with the amount of room she had to maneuver in. She was no longer in the way of the wait staff but when a patron shoved her chair as he passed by one of the waitresses thanked him. The worst part about it was that they treated my friend like she had committed some offense when they are the ones who decide where the table should be placed. In addition to that, they wasted 3 foot of floor space with a huge armed chair at the other end of the table. If they moved it or exchanged that chair for another this would never be an issue. The bbq beef tips were tough and not very good. As you can imagine we had a sizeable bill plus an automatic 18% gratuity that we sorted out who owed what on our own and then we were followed out by our server who insisted that we shorted her even though we left $2 more than what was owed. Will never go here again and will strongly recommend that my friends and family avoid it as well. After reading other posts here, it is quite apparent that since their tips are guaranteed with large groups they feel safe treating customers with complete disrespect. The only good thing about this place is the busboy. He was a very helpful and courteous person.

Who doesn't love a good burger? If you are a lover of all things meaty and manly, this is the place for you. O'Connell's takes a simple but delicious approach to burgers. There are no fancy garnishes, just deliciously flavorful burger patties (which are enormous) in a pub setting. Awesome place to grab a beer and a burger with friends - definitely gets loud in there, but it's a fun atmosphere!
