This recent settlement agreement between EEOC and a food company may serve as a blueprint for employers hoping to be well-prepared for any harassment claims that may arise.

Amedysis believes that being focused on quality attracts similarly minded employees. This focus on quality employees is paying off with caregiver turnover rate of 18% (compared to 66% industry-wide). The CEO is so committed to quality staff that he spends a quarter of his time with staff as they care for patients. Do you do that with your caregivers?

Gen Z embrace fear as a learning experience. They are willingly venture outside of their comfort zones. They value open mindedness, teamwork and diversity - all values that modern employers are trying to emulate.
My question is "Will this last?" In other words, do Gen Z have this outlook because they are at the start of their working career, or is it an ingrained trait?

Fortune published its first-ever list of the top 50 Great Places To Work for the aging services sector. The list is broken down into senior housing and in home care categories. This is an indication of the growing share of the US economy going into senior services.
The survey has found that great workplaces consistently see higher revenue growth and lower turnover rates. That’s an important finding for home care and home health agencies who struggle with high turnover rate.

I am in favor of openess on compensation in hiring. Share at least a range on start salary. Treat candidates as partners in the recruitment process by keeping the lines of communication open. In this very competitive job market, those are the top pet peeves candidates report.

We know that the competition for workers is intense. Home Health as an industry relies heavily on government funding. Reimbursement rates have remained stagnant. It is now exceptionally challenging for home care agencies to remain competitive with other industries like Amazon raising wages to $15 per hour across the country.

Real life marketing shows candidates what it’s like to work for a company. Captivating content shouldn’t be polished and curated. If it comes off as slick, corporate and filled with stock photos, it will turn off candidates. Good content should be recycled and might even work better!
Recruiters, get your camera out and start quizzing employees on why they like their job!

Cypress Home Health differentiates from competitors thanks to dedicated dementia programs. Caregivers are highly trained. They work to improve the quality of life and daily experience of dementia patients. Those caregivers receive premium pay and thus have a lower turnover.
