Haley Harrison is happy to be back home, reporting in Kansas City after nearly five years on the East Coast. She joined the KMBC news team in April 2012 from NewsChannel 8/WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C.
Haley grew up in Topeka and studied journalism at the University of Kansas. In her career, Haley has covered some exciting stories, including Hurricane Irene, the 2012 State of the Union address, and the East Coast earthquake. Some of her most memorable and interesting interviews include documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, D.C. Councilman Marion Barry, actor and 2008 Republican presidential hopeful Fred Thompson and former DNC Chair (and Kansas City native) Tim Kaine.
However, Haley most enjoys telling the stories of average people who face extraordinary circumstances. If you have a story idea, Haley would like to hear it. You can e-mail her at email@example.com.
When she’s not digging up her next story, Haley enjoys spending time with her husband, Deron, as well as her other family and friends here in the Kansas City area.
