Most of us are familiar with his work through the movies (From Hell, V for Vendetta, Watchmen) but few have actually read Alan Moore's comics! Here's my review of his most important comics.
He would probably hate me for saying so, but my first contact with Alan Moore's work was through the movies. I was eight or nine years old and my sister had rented From Hell, hot on the heels of another Johnny Depp horror movie, Sleepy Hollow. At the time, I was very frightened by it.

There's no denying it anymore: Homeland sucks. Which is a shame, really, since it was one of the best show one air. What happened? Two words: short sight.
a Homeland review. It's no secret to anyone that I dig TV series (especially cable ones), and I really love binge watching them (maybe that's why I enjoyed House of Cards so much) – the whole “waiting for the next episode” is not really my thing, though I am willing to put up with it if the ...

My blog 2.0: Flatline is back - and it's got new design and functionality. Take a look! I appreciate any feedback, so feel free to contact me.
I'm back. After sometime without posting – in which I was dedicated to bringing this new site to life – I present to you the new face of Flatline, more beautiful (I hope) and fully functional – now there is an archive, so you can read all my wonderful (ehem) texts. In the spirit of celebration, ...

My thought on Google's announcements yesterday - I'll definitely will be buying the new Nexus 7!
I have been thinking of buying a Nexus 7 for a while now. My only fear: it has been around for a while and I risked buying something that would become obsolete (for the dystopian future I described earlier has not come true y...

How knew I could fall in love with a minibar?
Looking at my previous blog posts, I realised I've been doing mostly movie/TV reviews and commentaries on technology, so I decided to try something new. I chose to focus on one of my most prised possessions, the one that all ...

After a long time with no posts, here's my review of The Great Gatsby!
It's more than a week without posting, I know. It's just that I've been traveling like crazy beacause of the FIFA Confederations Cup, of which my company is a sponsor. While a little tiresome, it has been a great experienc...

Every comic book reader has heard Will Eisner's name once or twice, but few have actually read something by him. Shocker: he was actually a very talented, very modern writer that any self respecting reader should know.
I always considered that, as everything else, comics were simpler before the new millennium. Heroes were good, villains were bad – enough said. It turned out that, as everything else, comics were far from simple before the new millennium. Just as watching Mad Men made me see that perhaps the ...

So here's a "bro letter" to Brian K Vaughan, one of my favorite comic book writers!
I was actually going to call this posts “love letter” but a) it sounded too gay and b) my feelings for Mr. Brian K Vaughan are nowhere near romantic. When I first started reading comics, I was about 15 and still living in Belo Horizonte. My family lives right across a mall, and I was there all ...

Here's my thoughts on the latest InfoTrends, which I had the pleasure of assisting
Last Friday I had the opportunity to attend InfoTrends - for those of you outside Brazil, it's an event organised by Info magazine (a sort of Brazilian Wired) which has speakers both national and foreign to discuss, as its na...

Is the subscription model that's taking over Microsoft and Adobe an omen of a better future or a darker one?
I had been thinking for a while to get Office 365. I can't what about it exactly appealed to me, though the cloud features made it interesting for someone who, as I said previously, has 4 different Microsoft devices. But, bei...

Pixar does it again, a in the trickiest of movies: the prequel - a review of Monsters University
So I went to see Monsters University. I've always been a fan of Pixar (which quite unsettles me, you know, liking something everybody likes, and especially something out of Steve Jobs' mind), both because of the technical ach...

I have seen lots of blood lately. Not real blood, mind you, it's probably some chemical composition used by Hollywood but still, I've seen lots of it, mainly because I've watched every episode of NBC's Hannibal, plus The Sile...
