I had a horrifying experience today at Dagwood's! Angela was rude, condescending and really shouldn't be in a customer service role. Even when I called to put in my order, she wasn't the friendliest. I chalked it up to her probably just being busy, but when I arrived it got worse. I was told my salad would be ready in 10 minutes, I gave it 20 minutes and still ended up watching Several plays from the game. I arrived and saw she was busy and kept taking drink orders , so I went up to the hostess just to let her know I was picking up food I had ordered that was ready. That for whatever reason seemed to rub Angela the wrong way and so began the over the top, condescending attitude. After I let her know I was just picking up food I had ordered (which apparently was not in the computer) she continued serving drinks and shots and talking to another girl that worked with her (brunette with bills T on)...I could hear a good part of it and it wasn't pleasant or work related. Anyway, I didn't see her for another few minutes so I figured they went to finally go make the salad that was supposed to have been ready. At this point, after the attitude and for treatment, I interrupted the Male bartender who is joking with friends and taking pictures and asked for my money back. I had specifically called, place my order and gave it extra time specifically so I wouldn't have to wait another 20 minutes on top of my drive time. I planned ahead on purpose because I had somewhere to be. To make matters worse, the male bartender couldn't give me my money back and when Angela saw me talking to him she got even more of an attitude problem. As I was about to go out the door I heard her say something incredibly derogatory about me, so I turned back from the door, saw the surprised look on the other patrons faces and asked her what she said. I'm sure you could understand after all that why I was upset, but to top it off she actually had the nerve to race up to me and start yelling as if I had done something wrong. Wow! Customer service is not what it used to be. I don't usually have bad experiences anywhere. I've been a bartender and I've been a server (years ago while in college) and never really found it to be difficult even though we were always busy. Then again, maybe that's why we had such extraordinary tips. Pity. My friends, family and I used to love going there. Not anymore. Too many wonderful places in the Pollys Island area and Murrells Inlet area to even bother with terrible places that don't value their customers like Milardo's and Dagwood's.

Came for a quick bite to eat for lunch. Service was great, beer was cold, and sandwiches filled us up. Great place to stop by for lunch or dinner.

Been going to Dagwood's since 1989. It is a MUST EAT each time we visit the beach. The home made bread and Boars Head meat are the best sandwiches on the beach to me. The staff are always friendly and the food is always delicious. I sport my Dagwood's T-shirt proudly. Secret for the locals....Wednesdays are free cookie day.
