We were honored to once again sponsor prizes for some aspiring young #horticulturists during the Crawford County Fair in Meadville Pennsylvania. Best in Show - Potted #Plants winner was Olivia Packard. She also won Best in Show - Arrangements. Best in Show - Specimen #Flowers went to Douglas Stevenson. Congratulations to these two young green thumbs!

A field of partridge pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata) trembles in the wind amid a chorus of #crickets, while #bees and other #pollinators forage against the stiff breeze. Partridge pea is a superb native bunch-type legume that provides a food source for #songbirds and #upland #gamebirds, and a great nectar source for pollinators of all sorts.
