After leaving Palermo, we are making our way towards the Italian mainland via the Aeolian islands. Stromboli was our favorite island with its black sand beaches, beautiful accommodations and a lava-spewing volcano to boot.

Today we landed on the island of Capri and are making our way to the Amalfi Coast. Only 14 days left until our U.S. touchdown!

In writing about our trek to Everest Base Camp, there was just too much to say in just one article.

Today we are celebrating our 500th day on the road in Palermo, Italy! We are enjoying having our own kitchen for the first time since we left home. What makes it even better? Just outside our doorstep is the local open-air market where vendors sell fresh vegetables, fruits and seafood.

Happy Valentine's Day Eve to everyone! ;)

One week in Istanbul followed by a week in Athens has us in reverse culture shock since leaving China.  We spent our last evening today in Athens on Mount Lycabettus taking in the sunset.

Tomorrow, we leave for Sicily where we've rented an apartment for one month.  We are excited for the opportunity to hang our clothes up and stay a while.  If anyone has any Sicily recommendations you wouldn't find in a guide book, please comment or send us a message.

Our 2 months of Shaolin kung fu training in China has come to a close. We had a fantastic time with our ridiculously badass master (Master Wang) and all of the students we met during our time at the academy.

After a total of 3 months in the country, we have been impressed by the kindness of its people and just how easy (and safe) it is to travel here, despite the language barrier.

We leave China tomorrow headed for Istanbul to meet up with friends and give our legs a well-earned break.

Happy New Year everyone!! We've been a little more "off the grid" than normal lately due to extremely slow to non-existent internet. Our kung fu training is going well, which began Nov. 24th in Yantai, China. Three more weeks of running, jumping, kicking, hoping, twisting, falling, bleeding, etc. before we land in Istanbul, Turkey.

With less than 90 days until our journey's end, we are trying to slow things down and really enjoy our last few months of "freedom".

We visited Tiananmen Square and witnessed the flag lowering ceremony while in Beijing. Lots of patriotic Chinese families in attendance at the world's largest city square.

We spent our 400th day on the road visiting giant pandas and eating our first hot pot in Chengdu, China.  Signing up for a month of kung fu to begin soon... still working out the details.  Kung fu pandas?
