Main meeting point of the city and it's quite near everything. Plenty shops in the surroundings and some pricey restaurants (which aren't that good in general). There's not much to do on it because it's just a normal square but you can go walking almost everywhere in the city from there (it doesn't take too much to go to the beach or to La Sagrada Familia, if you don't mind walking).

Una bella piazzetta per riposarsi. Molte panchine e una bella fontana. È molto trafficato.

Central point of reference in Barcelona. Great meeting point for everyone and close to every centric place of interest. It is not a great place to see on its own as it does not have any specially beautiful monuments or sightnings. One of the most iconic things about it it's that is absolutely conquered by pidgeons and in winter there is an ice-skating rink. There is also a lot of big stores like 'El corte inglés' or 'El Triangle' and a lot of restaurants and banks. The metropolitan bus station is situated nearby and there are underground and train stops around.

Considered by many to be the centre of Barcelona where old meets new. A meeting point is another way to describe this square. People use it as a place to gather before heading off to various parts of the city together. Need a simple guide? Search iPhone App Store for "Barcelona Deals”

Lots of history and plenty to see. It's the hub of people watching. Food, snacks, coffee are all available here. We certainly enjoyed being here.
