- Any questions? .... what it might involve, would be "expected" (not much) .... just ask. :-)Apr 22, 2013
Being an "Author" is just for fun, I would hope that people would write a post "now and again".
It would be good for authors to kind of "work together", i.e. understand any apply / use the same tagging structure so related content can be found by users.Apr 22, 2013
- Hi Robert! Many questions and ideas!
First off, how does the workflow process work? Do we submit article ideas to you and if you approve, we write about it? Can we write about anything? And do you post articles to the blog or do we also have admin rights? How often do we have to submit blog posts? Once a week?
Also, is there an ESC instagram account? I think it would work well!
I'm really into Kaffee (und Kuchen) culture, so I already know about a few cafes that I would like to write about. I'm also into trying new restaurants and writing about concerts and events.
Anyhow, looking forward to hearing from you. And if you have any questions about me, feel free to ask.
Thanks!Apr 22, 2013
- Robert WallisModerator+1Hi, authors have posting rights on the blog. There is no workflow delay in posts needing to be "approved" etc.
Your posts are credited to you, credited in each post footer, which is why I want all authors to have linked their blogger profiles with their Google+ profiles as detailed in the post: english-speaking-cologne.blogspot.com/2013/04/blog-on-english-speaking-cologne.html
Post content is "organized" using blogger labels. There's a post which shows "commonly used" labels here: http://english-speaking-cologne.blogspot.de/2007/11/sort-options.html
That should help give you an idea of the kind of things "we" would like posting.
Once Authors "get" that, it means that both new and older content can be found easily from the posts labels or the navigation in the right column on the blog.
Post frequency is up to you. This is entirely voluntary. What I'm hoping for is a handful of people who are actually interested in posting to breathe life back into the blog and the whole "English Speaking Cologne" community idea.
I've set up an instagram account: instagram.com/english_cologne which I've linked to twitter too.
Would be happy to get other authors using that as we meet up.Apr 22, 2013
- Hi. Thanks for your message. So I linked my blogger profile with my G+ profile. I'll defo use the blogger labels.
I think the first article that I'll do will be based on "Crafty" which is a Cologne-based arts group devoted to making things. Looking forward to writing my first post--I'll also try to include photos.Apr 22, 2013
- CoolI'll reach out to you privately for you email address, which I need to give you access.
Please make your first post your "Author post", which is just a little "About you post" Your name as the title, with a lable "Author" attached. See here for details: english-speaking-cologne.blogspot.com/search/label/Author
If you don't want that sitting as the most recent post showing on the front of the blog, just back-date it, which will throw it off the "front" of the blog.Apr 22, 2013
- A note for the other current authors:and
The new commenting system means you will need to link your blogger profile to your Google+ profile in order to post.
If you don't wish to remain as authors let me know and I'll remove you.
If you want to stay, but do not want to blog under your "real" name that can be arranged with the new commenting system, but you'd need to jump a few hoops, so I'll save explaining that until unless it's required by someone.
If you have any questions just ask!Apr 26, 2013
