Creating One-ofa-Kind New "Old" Dressmaker's Forms
Oh how I love antique and vintage dressmaker's forms!
I had purchased one for my daughter's room. It was very expensive and when I wanted a second one, I decided to design my very own new "old" form. "Amelie" turned out gorgeous! I was so proud of her that I posted photos of her on Facebook.
Well...guess what happened? A friend of mine in California sent me a message...."Is she for sale?". Uh....well, I guess she is. So the adventure of Starview Sonnet Designs began. Since that first creation almost two and a half years ago, I have created over 70 one-of-a-kind "girls" for shop owners, fashion divas,. homeowner's and jewelry makers.
My designs have continued to improve and evolve with each and every project. I absolutely LOVE what I do. I am always on the look out for vintage buttons, lace, trim and jewelry to incorporate into my designs. I love using unique text and graphic detail to personalize my girls. They can be right at home in any setting. Some are simple and elegant. Some are sparkly and girly-girl. Then there are some in-between. All beautiful. All special. Each One-Of-A-Kind.
Doesn't every little girl have a dream that goes something like this.......????
"I'd love to live in the country someday"
"Wouldn't it be fabulous to have your own little cottage?"
"Can you imagine doing what you love and making a little money too?"
Well...THIS GIRL has realized all these dreams. I live on a beautiful country hilltop. I have an adorable guest cottage/artist studio to work in.. I AM DOING WHAT I LOVE, and, yes, making a little money at it.
DREAMY? RIGHT?
I'd love to share my passion with you and create your special dressmaker's form.
My forms are destined to become heirlooms (I just know it). : )
