Hi Lisa,
Yes, one less book to read! But Who's Doing the Work? is one of those books that I need to keep close all the time. There is so much here that's valuable. I hope that the authors will be at NCTE in November. I will be front and center trying to soak up more learning from them! Yes, we need to remember to always observe how our students use the tools we provide them with. I think sometimes we forget to check in with students and the tools end up being crutches rather than assists in learning.

Hi Terje.
Thanks for your encouragement. Yes, I will definitely remember to breathe. In fact, I often take deep breaths and then realize how much tension I've been holding inside. It is a small thing, but it really helps. Have a great year!

Grandmother?
My daughter got married a little over a week ago. I am now a mother-in-law and eventually will become a grandmother. It's a lot to wrap my head around. Although the title of mother-in-law does not scare me,  the label of "grandmother" is a bit more than I c...

Hi Linda,
Thank you for your kind words. Although there are perks to teaching internationally, there is also the downside that comes when it's time to say goodbye to one or more teachers and students at the end of every school year.
