So I've run into this a couple of times, once as a GM and once as a player. How do you guys handle the hound's pet during combat? Since she's an expert hunter, but doesn't really have any skirmish ability, I kind of think the best way is to use them in a group hunt activity, similar to how a dog is used during a fox hunt, ferreting people out from cover, perhaps grabbing and tackling they quarry to the ground if the pet is the one with the highest role in the group action (and therefore setting up the next role against an adversary). It feels a little cheap though, given that the pet doesn't really have a skirmish ability.

Am I just picturing pets as too large and capable? Do you guys allow pets to use hunt during combat?

Posting at the behest of my players. This is many sessions deep and there is no streaming history, but we will be posting future episodes soon. Very low magic setting with creepy-crawlies.

A brief session involving no combat. I'm posting at the behest of the players, I'm generally not a streamer. :)

Been listening to the podcast for a while and been digging it, but I wanted to chime in with something that came up about Fate. On the GenCon Panel, Play Better Games Damn It!!! you asked the trivia question, "Name the two people that invented Fate." While the answers provided (Rob Donoghue and Fred Hicks) is perfectly correct, it reminds me of a little rant of mine: I really get riled up about Fate because of the heavy influence that FUDGE originally had on it that the authors no longer seems to acknowledge. Steffan O'Sullivan, creator of FUDGE isn't even thanked in the latest version of Fate (Pathfinder Core book is DEDICATED to Gygax and Arneson).

The verbal scale, the dice and resolution mechanics are all FUDGE's that is now OGL (and I guess I understand that you can't copyright pure mechanics), so they're probably on good standing legally but I think it's a little crappy morally to cast off acknowledging O'Sullivan's contribution. I love, love, love Fate (especially 2nd edition, which I find infinitely more readable than Fate Core), but I'm so torn about this issue. Can anyone else sympathize with this?

I feel like there's a lot of wasted space at the top of the screen in Feedly. Maybe I'm more sensitive to this than most, given my laptop has 768 vertical pixels but I would love to see an option to eliminate some white space or tweak some of the layout/scrolling. In the same vein, because my resolution is so short, using space to advance a page often makes me miss a line of text.

I'll be running a sci-fi PbP game on rpol.net

The game draws inspiration from inspiration from Numenara, Diaspora, Firefly, Rifts, Mass Effect and Star Wars. It's an original setting, but I purposely left big blanks in the setting to give people narrative room to play with it.

For those not familiar with RPOL, it's a pretty active community, but the UI isn't super intuitive, it's not real hard but a couple things take some getting used to.

If you're interested but can't figure out RPOL, reply here and I'll lend a hand.
