At least they are trying something different. The cocktails are unique, spicy and excellent. The food is OK (with a couple of somewhat misses) to very good, mostly very good, with some unique and interesting takes on latin food. The place is cool, mainly for adults, and a good place to hang with your friends or impress your date with some ethnic hipness, and have some good drinks and food. I'd come here again, though it's in Bell and I have no other earthly reason to go to Bell.

Best restaurant in the area. My wife and I love this place. We like the fact that we don't have to drive to downtown for a great dinner anymore.

Now this place is just a hidden gem in Bell. If it wasn't for a recommendation from a coworker and good GPS I would have driven right past this. The inside is very nice, with lots of open space and a cool decor. The staff is friendly and very helpful with great menu explanations and recommendations. And the prices are very good, especially for the happy hour! We ordered many different drinks (most can be found on the happy hour menu) and they all were very good. I stuck with the special of the day ($5) which was some sort of tequila punch. It was very good and just strong enough. We ordered lots of food and appetizers and the ones that stood out the most were the homemade potato chips and the ceviche. They were both very fresh and went well with the tasty drinks we had. It wasn't too crowded when we first got there around 5 but it slowly started filling up. The service was a bit slow but mainly because the waitress looked to be in charge of almost all of the tables. I will definitely be back.

I love this place. A little pricey (dishes are about 18 dollars), but a good place to get plates to share. I highly recommend the sopes with carnitas and the taco appetizer. Honestly, appetizers are not really worth it on non happy hour time, might as well get a dish. As for cocktails, the pelon y beso is one of the best drinks I've ever tasted. Right amount of sweet and spicy. My friend got a michelada, which he said is the second best michelada he's ever had. The ambiance is really nice, relaxed and romantic. Love this place!!

Coming out this way to Bell for this restaurant was something I have been hesitating for a very long time. I was already in Downtown Los Angeles and realized I was only 10 minutes away from Corozon y Miel once I checked on my GPS. So what if I already had a meal at a mediocre Mexican restaurant. I was game to finally try, even a taste, of Corazon y Miel. I sat at the bar and wanted to eat some light bites and have a cocktail. Robin (managing partner) at the bar made some suggestions and I went with the carnitas estilo frances. I was pleasantly surprised once the plate arrived. It was a beautiful dish just calling for me take a photo. The carnitas was so rich in flavor, delicious, and satisfying. I really enjoyed the presentation of the picked vegetables on the plate. I loved the craft cocktails so much that one was not enough, so I ordered three! I felt the prices are reasonable for the quality and the service was friendly and attentive. I've been to some restaurants where solo dining at the bar is a bit uncomfortable. This bar is definitely solo diner friendly. This definitely was "fit for a foodie" and worth the trip as a destination restaurant. One might think that is really surprising that two of the best restaurants in the city are located in the city of Bell. I also loved low key feeling and seeing local families eating here as well. It definitely felt like a place I would find in Hollywood, Silver Lake or Echo Park, without minus the snobby attitude at some of those places. I can't wait to return with larger appetite to try some of the other dishes! I imagine their Latin inspired menu is something you can find in Mexico City.

I was skeptical, but there was not one dish that did not have great flavor. So worth the trip out there. The drinks were worth the wait because they were perfect, the food came much faster.
