New Painting
A new painting that I have been returning to day after day as a sanctuary of peace. A hectic, active outward life is balanced by this eternal inner forest.

A fascinating post about these oddly compelling paintings. Often there is beauty in the most unusual places and you John, have found such a place.

Painting from Inside the Landscape ~ Montreal, QC, Canada
Introduction
www.hollyfriesen.com
A painter woman learning to live with herself and others on this planet spinning through space. After 30 years of painting from observation of the forests, rocks and rivers, I feel I am no longer observing the natural world around me but rather, in a reversal of roles, the natural world seems to be observing me. Painting is a direct response to this living, breathing earth. I am humbled and awed by this process. Fire is my heartbeat, Beauty is my compass, and the Earth is my Body.

Almost all of my paintings can be purchased as prints and/or posters here: Holly Friesen Store
