You can get involved in two ways:
1. Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th August over lunch time: 1:00 – 2:30pm
Staff students and Grahamstown community are invited to write the names and ages of children killed in Gaza, on plaques that will be laid as part of the vigil. We will provide white rectangular pieces of wood and black markers. People can choose to design the plaque and make it personal if they wish, and that plaque will be assigned to them. The 3 venues for this are:
· The lawns outside the law/education/music departments
· Outside the Kaif
· Outside the Nelson Mandela dining hall
People can come to these venues to learn more about this crisis. There will be pamphlets, and people to answer questions about the conflict, its historical and contemporary context.
2. Friday 8 August, Drostdy Lawns, 18:30-19:00:
Vigil for children killed during the Gaza crisis
· 18:00 people can come and pick up their plaques, or get assigned one on the steps above the lawns.
· 18:30 – 19:00 Vigil for children killed during the Gaza crisis.
