I know a lot of people will read this, so let’s go. Over the past several weeks, I have come across articles about Zen, which included things like “Zen - Social Media”, Zen - Rush Hour Traffic” etc…

Not knowing what “Zen” really meant, I decided to look up it up and here is what I came up with: "Zen is a way of life. It is also a state of awareness.

Zen involves dropping illusion and seeing things without distortion created by your own thoughts."

Being in the Law Enforcement, the Security Industry and Director of training at ASI Executive Protection Training Academy for over 30-years, I truly liked the above proclamation: Zen involves dropping illusion and seeing things without distortion created by your own thoughts.

My cognitive for liking the proclamation is that, uncertified persons who are calling themselves “Executive Protection Expert or Specialist” are failing to teach proper Eye – Hand Coordination technique when it comes to you (the bodyguard) watching the hands…

You see, most students will never learn this eye – hand coordination technique because un-certified instructors teach from a standard of an intimidation factor. And many students will believe just that. They could intimidate other by their looks.

First impression is a last impression… Having just a background in Marital Art and using the Zen approach will not get you the command respect you or your client deserves.

What is sad about my comment is that, it really is a distorted illusion created by your thoughts based off the training you have received.

But there is good news: Students, Executive Protection is an Art and with a certified instructor from a Reputable Executive Protection Training School you shall receive the proper training to include Eye – Hand Coordination Training.
