One of the gifts I had received during my baby shower was “The Read-Aloud Handbook” by Jim Trelease. It was a gift from my aunt, she didn’t make a big deal out of it, just gave me the book and a package of sticky page-markers. I didn’t start reading it…

Small Stepping Stones in Two Languages

My son is now 21 months old. He’s still not speaking. Not really anyway. He’s “behind” on his spoken language development, but it is definitely happening. Using Two Languages He has picked up several new words since my last post three months ago, and his…

Fifteen months is an exciting time for parents and their little ones. In our house, we watch as our son has started to understand simple commands: “Can you throw this in the garbage?” “Can you put your toy back in here?” – and still debate over whether he…

Article Highlights: IT must be conscious of marketing goals in order to provide a platform for marketers to control and measure the content of a Web site. The idea of IT working under marketing is no longer so far-fetched–at Marriott International, the CIO actually reports to the CMO.

(Whitney Houston cover) - Chris Cornell - San Francisco, Masonic Auditorium - Obama 2012 Rally - February 16, 2012

My son has been attending TLE Raleigh for just over a month. It was a huge transition for him, this being his first daycare experience at 18 months old. The facility is new and secure - and although it's far from my home, it's close to my work. The toddler teachers are very sweet - Ms. Tahra gives him some love during the rough morning drop-offs and Ms. Jammie gives me a detailed rundown of his behavior and mood when I pick him up every day. The owners/staff in general are very accommodating to me as a parent (I think I called to check on him about 4 times on his first day). I have been very satisfied with our experience so far!

I brought my newborn son here and continued for a year before we switched because of insurance changes. I was mostly very satisfied with the care we received here. Dr. Bernstein was fantastic and spoke with me very calmly and reassuringly after my first visit where I was visibly frantic, sleep deprived, and desperately trying to breastfeed my son. Dr. Parker had some pretty strong opinions about sleep training and "helicopter parenting" in general (said she does not believe in baby monitors) - but I think that this is only brought on if you actually ask her first. As a new parent, not totally confident in my own instincts, I found this confusing. I would say (mostly to new parents trying to figure this stuff out) that you should see all of the doctors and get all of their recommendations before deciding to stick with one. There is not one set of universal parenting truths in all matters.

I saw all of the physicians at this practice during my pregnancy. Some had better bedside manner than others, but Dr. Gunter was my favorite and was the one who ended up delivering my son. I now see him exclusively for GYN needs. Very gentle and never seems rushed. Definitely recommend!

I have had only good experiences here. Dr. Ryan has an excellent demeanor with my toddler who has very intense stranger anxiety. I would recommend to other parents!
