Don’t forget about your gutters. When debris, shingle particles, leaves, etc. collect in your gutters they clog up your downspouts and hold water in your gutters. You need to clean those gutters out at least once a year. . Otherwise it starts to rot out your gutters, facia boards, roof ply, etc. You can do this yourself or call a profession like Oregon Chimney Guys who will put you on a yearly maintenance schedule. www.oregonchimneyguys.com or 541-232-2445 Free Bids
“I have to dry my clothes through 2 cycles,” “My dryer gets extremely hot and starts to smell,” “I think something is wrong with my dryer because my clothes are not getting dry.” This is what I have heard from customers who have had tons of lint in their vents. I have been to some where I have gotten a five gallon bucket of lint out of their vent. This is inefficient and dangerous. Dryer Vent cleaning is $125, give us a call (541-232-2445) or visit us online at www.oregonchimneyguys.com
Turn your dryer on and then go outside to where your dryer vents. You should have a strong breeze coming out your vent, plus you should be able to clearly hear your dryer. If you cannot then you know the lint is slowing down air and muffling the noise, time for a cleaning.
The great thing about getting your dryer vent cleaned with OCG is that once we are done you will know what your dryer vent should sound like and feel like.
If you cannot remember if you have ever had it done, then you have not had it done.
If you think the people who owned the home before you had it done before they sold it to you, they didn’t.
Peace of mind and efficiency for $125. For more info please visit www.oregonchimneyguys.com.
Dryer Sheets, we all love the feel and aroma dryer sheets give our clothes. Some people love it so much they put two or three sheets per cycle. Noticed the feel of a new dryer sheet compared to a used sheet. The new is a sticky and a little stiff compared to a used sheet which is shriveled, soft, and not sticky. Dryer sheets are filled with chemicals that are released as vapor during the dryer cycle. Vapor sticks to the walls of the dryer vent and makes the dryer vent sticky. This makes it easy for lint to adhere to the dryer vent.
More laundry, more dryer sheets, more sticky vapor, more lint build-up, greater the fire hazard.
I don’t recommend not using dryer sheets but I do recommend getting your dryer vent cleaned by Oregon Chimney Guys, $125. Learn more at www.oregonchimneyguys.com

Hair in your house will end up in your dryer vent. Your hair, your families, and your pets (dogs and cats) end up on your clothes. Your clothes make their way through your dryer and much of it is shot through the vent where it wedges itself within the lint particles building up on the walls of your vent. It is gross I know but I can look at lent and tell you if women live in the house and if they have animals. I am not saying kick out the ladies or your animals, but lint builds up faster the more hair you have in the house.

Dryer vent must not exceed 35 feet (code). Take off five feet for every 90 degree turn and two and a half feet for every 45 degree turn. The shorter the vent the less chance the lint has to catch in the dryer vent. Turns in your vent cause the air to slow, dramatically increasing lint build up. Also, make sure you have the appropriate length of krinkly hose (hose attaching the dryer to the vent in the wall). This hose can inhibit the air flow if it is too long and binds over on itself four or five times, which I have seen.
If you have any concern about the venting of your dryer give Oregon Chimney Guys a call (541-232-2445) and we can clean and evaluate, $125.

I pick her up, kiss her cheek and put her in bed with mama. 5:15 get my truck ready for the day. 6:30 starbucks, where I do my administration stuff for my business. 8:30 I am off to my first appointment for the day. 9:00, 10:30, 1:00pm job job job. Lunch with a friend, bid another job, take 4 or 5 phone calls (book appointments, etc). Home by 5:00, kids run and hug me (one of the best parts of my day!). Unpack my truck with my kids, shower, chaos, play, fun, cry, dinner, stories, fighting, hugging, bath, tooth brushing, kids go down, deep breath. Watch a little hulu and go to bed.
