If #Tigers fascinate you then you must definitely visit #Karnataka. The south Indian state has the highest tiger population (five tiger reserves) in the country and proudly called the “Tiger State of India”. Karnataka (Nagarhole, Bandipur and adjoining forest) has 417 tigers, constitutes the single largest wild population of the world’s tigers. Nestled amidst the picturesque surroundings of the Western Ghat mountains, Bandipur (most visited tiger reserve) and the adjoining Nagarhole would give you a good chance of spotting the wild cat. As per reports, as many as 750 tourists a day visit Bandipur during Dasara and peak season. Apart from the general timings, you can opt for a night safari at Bandipur National Park, for which you have to take special permission from the park’s administration.

One of most remote and isolated Buddhist monasteries in India – the Phuktal Monastery or Phuktal Gompa in the Zanskar region of Ladakh. This 12th century monastery (aka gompa) is located spectacularly on the edge of a rocky cliff at the mouth of a cave overlooking a river, mountains and tiny hamlets. What’s interesting about the monastery is that it’s one of the very few monasteries in the Himalayan region that can only be reached on foot. About 80 monks reside inside the monastery and their life is worth experiencing along with the remote beauty of the place. July to mid-October is the best time to visit Phuktal. make your bookings with #GeTSHolidays #IndiawithGeTSHolidays
