Story
Tagline
I am an astronomy professor in the San Francisco Bay Area and work on a number of national programs in astronomy education and outreach. I was the founding editor of the on-line journal, Astronomy Education Review.
Introduction
I've devoted most of my professional career to helping students, teachers, and the public understand astronomy (and physics) and explaining scientific developments in everyday language.  My AstroProf Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Fraknoi brings regular updates on new discoveries, new images, and new resources.  I've written a children's book on astronomy for Disney, been co-author of a series of college textbooks, and edited "The Universe at Your Fingertips" (a widely used collection of classroom astronomy activities and resources.)
Bragging rights
I was very honored to be selected as the Professor of the Year for the State of California in 2007 by the Carnegie Foundation for Higher Education.
