I called because I was trying to transfer a reservation from one of the U-Haul locations in the south end of the city to this location. It was a complicated situation because I was taking over the task of getting the U-Haul for my church garage sale from the original person who had planned to pick it up. Why? Because the guy who had planned to pick up the truck had to go to his mother-in-law's funeral. Yeah, sorry, change of plans. Very upsetting situation. The original location had been closer to my friend's house for pickup, but that was at the far end of the city for me. I thought it would be better to go with a location closer to my house and closer to where we'd be picking up the stuff for the garage sale. Sounds simple, right? Instead of me taking a trip to South KC, I'd change the reservation to the U-Haul location north of the river, closer to where I live, and closer to where we'd be picking up the stuff for the sale. I tried to talk to the U-Haul person on the phone, but the guy kept interrupting me every few seconds to say something rude, snide, or condescending. He even asked me if I remembered my own last name. Why, you ask? Because I didn't know the size of the truck off the top of my head. Why didn't I know it? Because my computer froze and I was trying to get the page with the reservation information to come up. Again, not originally my reservation. He kept interrupting me so that I couldn't even explain what was going on, and I couldn't even tell him the information. When the computer un-froze, I tried to read off the reservation number, and he interrupted me again, telling me that he didn't need that, and that he would just cancel the old reservation. When I tried to clarify what he was doing, and whether the old reservation would be transferred or if I needed to make a new reservation with a different credit card, he interrupted again and never let me get the question out. I was just trying to help pick up the slack for my church garage sale in the middle of a bad situation. I was asked to help out at the last minute, so I was scrambling to get this stuff done. The last thing I needed was for a guy to be a complete jerk on the phone, not letting me ask question, and talking down to me like a child. Warning, folks... if you sound young on the phone, he'll probably treat you like garbage, too. I'm actually a 34-year old Army veteran, and I might sound young, but I don't take rudeness from anybody. Not only are we just straight-up cancelling the reservation, but I felt it was important to let people know how rude the guy was. Instead, I'm enlisting the help of friends with pickup trucks and SUVs to haul the garage sale items.

Amazing service, good wine, superb food. Lovely atmosphere for any occasion. I went first on my anniversary, and they gave us free champagne. Have been a few times for their happy hour, which has all of their delicious appetizers for about $7. You could make an entire light meal out of appetizers, and the wine is $5 per glass for any of their varieties. Their entrées are all fantastic. In short, this is a great restaurant, and I'd recommended it to anyone.

THIEVES. This bank went to foreclose on a house, and they went to the WRONG HOUSE - a house to which they didn't hold the mortgage. This bank's associates are guilty of breaking and entering, grand larceny, trespassing, and destruction of property. An estimated $18,000 of goods were stolen while the homeowner was innocently on vacation. She came home to find her locks changed and all her possessions gone. STOLEN. By the BANK. And it wasn't even her bank! If that wasn't bad enough, now the bank owner WON'T PAY UP. This filthy slime-wad stole almost all of this woman's possessions, and he won't pay her back for the value of the goods, She needs to replace EVERYTHING. The bank told her "we won't give you retail value" for her stuff. That's insane! How else is she going to replace it? And of course, there are things that can't be replaced. They're just GONE. I hope this internet campaign DESTROYS this amoral, vile, thieving bank. I don't usually feel vindictive, but this bank deserves public ridicule.
