I'm not a Tron fan. Even as a kid I found, at most, it to be visually appealing but otherwise boring.
Ask me about Tron:Uprising though, and I will say that it's one of the best things made this year. Fluid animation, beautiful CGI that makes most of the frames usable as computer wallpaper, and a story that's not too adult but still genuinely engaging. Outside of the slow initial episodes, there are few shows out there that are this consistently good. So of course this series is getting canceled.
I shouldn't care about shows in general, and this isn't the first series I've heard about that I felt didn't really get a chance, but this show is exceptionally above the norm and I feel like Disney was unfair with it. It turned a tired franchise into something with a real world to it and also brought an artistic edge that is all its own.
So if Tron Uprising goes, I say it is Disney's loss and perhaps one of their worst decisions in appealing to a wider audience. This could bring them into the same playing field as Cartoon Network's Adult Swim demographic and also help assuage more people into their future treatment towards their current demographic-encompassing franchises like Tron as well as their latest Star Wars franchise which already has its doubts.
