My Viking woman costume! The blue underdress was sewn all by hand, the apron dress was done mostly on the machine with the neckline detail and hem done by hand...

Making progress on +Rob Holland​'s viking tunic for Halloween... Other than the facing on the neckline, I'm stitching it all by hand using an Elizabethan seam technique. I think I'm at about 10 hours of work so far. It's a fun and interesting project! The fabric I'm using is less than authentic, since it's cotton, but it looks great!

The little guy wants to be a Viking for Halloween, so I got an early start on his costume. His tunic is done other than hemming the sleeves and bottom, but I think a little more decoration around the collar is in order, as well. I suggested embroidering hammers (like Mjoljnir), but he said no, so I'm thinking of just couching some dusty blue yarn with the grey pearl cotton to make a second row of stitches...
