More than 16,000 people from 120 countries around the world are expected to converge in San Diego, California, to discuss the power of maps and applying geography at the2015 Esri User Conference (Esri UC). The Esri UC and related events will take place from July 18–24, featuring a variety of speakers from a presidential candidate to global first responders. Attendees will share ideas and best practices for improving our world through maps.

If you are trying to convince your boss to install dual drops vs single drops to each work station in your new office. Here is some advice, It's MUCH cheaper to do it now than it is to do it later, you're essentially only paying for labor once.

Running one line to each desk or running two takes about the same amount of time, and material is relatively cheap compared to the labor. If you daisy chain the PC off the phone you're capping the speed to and preventing yourself from splitting the two later down the road.
You're also,  not accounting for future growth or upgrades to technology.

If you can't get management buy in on 2 for each desk, try and compromise at two every-other, giving you some wiggle room for growth. If you need ammunition, get quotes from the cabling contractor, he'll gladly tell you and your boss that doing it later is more costly.

As a parent in this day and age you have to wonder what the effects of all this technology will be on our kids. Every parent can be out witted on an iphone  by a 3 year old. And who can blame a kid. They see everyone around them playing with these tiny glowing toys with flashing, moving pictures, and tons of images of themselves. #kidsandtechnology

Lots of companies are exploring the options that a wireless network can support. We see restaurants using tablets to take and process orders at the tables, distribution centers doing inventory with hand held devises and scanners, and of course laptops, smart phones, and tablets in every office all over San Diego. San Diego Cabling recommends really taking some time to design and invest in the right wireless network technology. Of course you can go to Costco and buy wireless access points and routers, but will that system support your business's demands, let alone future growth. If you are going to do it, do it right. Start by calling us for a site survey and consultation.

Read this article about the global averages for internet connection speeds. 76% increase in speeds in Nepal  last year. US is one of 4 countries where the average broadband connection speeds are 4 Mbps or more. But I think this was based on internet in the home. Which is probably a huge difference to what is running offices and business nation wide.
