What do people think about this plan for Cleveland's lakefront? Let us know!

"Story no longer available," but from what I gather, it's downtown and I am a strong proponent of removing the Shoreway from Clifton to Deadman's Curve on the East.

Wish I could see the architecture for other uses though.

Did any of our Pittsburgh readers attend any of the concerts in Braddock this past weekend?

From Next American City...look at what's happening at the site of the former Pruitt-Igoe public housing complex in St Louis: http://americancity.org/buzz/entry/3197/

"To experience the site is to get baptized in the benign inertia of St. Louis at the start of the 21st century. Those wild acres are so intrinsically like St. Louis that most locals avoid them at all costs. Through avoidance, Pruitt-Igoe’s forest has become the secret heart of the city. While the Gateway Arch beats the pulse of a proud city, Pruitt-Igoe murmurs its shame."

Do cities need more Republicans?
Here is one blog's explanation of why they do: http://nakedcityblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/why-cities-need-republicans.html

Been saying this for years, and I'm a Democrat.

It's obvious to me that many of our local leaders would be Republican if they thought they stood a chance.
The end result is a weak-on-ideas, (and as recent events prove, corrupt,) 'democratic party' on a local level.
More Democrats nationally and more balance locally I suggest.
