Been a long time between posts - that's because life interferes and we are new to this !!!!!
Convict Connections (meaning Val and Lyn) has just had a great trip to Rocky, Mackay, Proserpine and Bowen speaking on Exploring Convict Ancestry.  We will be at the NSW & ACT AFHS State Conference at Port Macquarie  Panthers on 11-13 September 2015.

Hulks(decommissioned warships) were used in England to house prisoners from the overcrowded gaols, but did you know that in #australia   there was also a Hulk moored in Sydney Harbour  to house #colonial  prisoners. To find out more go to our website and see the Newsletter articles from 2013

The February issue of #Convict  Connections Chronicle (formerly Newsletter) is available.
Annual subscription is $15 - there are three issues a year and each contains 40 pages full of interesting material, stories relating to #australia  's    #Colonial  past.

PUMPED ON - do you know what this term means?
If your female #convict  was pumped on during her voyage of transportation, it meant that she was being punished by being restrained as foul water from the ship's bilge was 'pumped on' her!
This an other interesting information can in the #ConvictConnections    Chronicle ( formerly known as the Convict Connections Newsletter ). It is more than a newsletter.

We will be out and about again in 2014 willing to advise anyone with their #convict research , with our display and of course the many items we sell.
Next date is Kiama's 25th Anniversary Family , Local and History Expo in April 2014
