My hummingbird garden art is all rusty so today I spray painted it using Krylon Indoor/Outdoor spray paint in "Banner Red" on the bird and "Citrus Green" for the post.

I'm watching "Lidia's Italy in America" right now and she's making spaghetti and meatballs.  I just love her, she's so sweet and her shows are fun and informative.  I have her cookbook - "Lidia's Family Table" and my favorite recipe in there is her Gnudi.  So good!

Wearable art!

Here we have an original art drawing of a white blood cell mounted on an adjustable bezel ring.  It's science.  It's art.  It's jewelry.

My harvest from my little backyard garden.  I'm growing sungold cherry tomatoes, tomatillos, hot banana peppers and lots of herbs, too.  Looks like I'll be making salsa verde tonight!

My mom made these totems:  The Sun and The Moon

So beautiful and priceless works of hand beaded art!  We mounted them in shadow boxes.

Teddy!
Teddy is a shih tzu and weighs about 15 pounds.  He's about 4 or 5 years old.  He has long hair but the groomer gave him a nice shave the other day!  He is currently sporting a Teddy Bear Face and Fluffy Tail haircut.  He is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, is housebroken, good with kids and other dogs (not sure about cats) and is a neutered male.  His favorite thing to do is sit in your lap and get belly rubs.  He is an "indoor" dog but loves to go on short walks.

I heard from Mom and she says Teddy is adjusting very well!  Someone offered to buy him but they were told he was not for sale because he is too lovable to be sold! :)

My new cover photo on Google+: One of the hiking trails in the Greenways of San Antonio, Texas.  I wish I could step into that picture and walk down that path right now!  It's going to start getting hot here (90 degrees Fahrenheit and above) so I'll have to go soon, or head out early in the morning.

This soup sounds perfect to help stave off the rainy cold weather we are having right now.  Going to have to go to the store and get the ingredients for this one!

Kelly :: Inspired By Sunshine And Science.
Introduction
Greetings, my name is Kelly.  Others may know me as "biologie", biologie-me, or BiologieMe!

I was made in the USA in Tornado Alley where everyone knows how to follow the yellow brick road.  RIght now, I'm nestled deep in the heart of Texas.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.  In the eighth grade, I took an exam which advised I should pursue a career in Ecology but my first major in college (after "undecided") was Fine Arts.  I am especially interested in painting and sculpture.  The melding of all of these interests is what makes up Biologie.

Simply put, I'm obsessed with the study of life.
