This was probably the best food we had in Nashville! The place isn't fancy, but the people were so nice and the food was so good! Especially the smoked turkey and Mac n cheese! I will definitely go back next time I'm in town!!

Delicious delicious delicious!! A family favorite! Prices are no higher than you would pay in the food court at the mall but well worth it for the portion sizes. If u haven't tried it, you're missing out. Our favorites? The barbecue nachos and potatoes.

So I just moved to Nashville and upon getting here I heard, and read, some pretty good things about this place. The place smells wonderful as there is a smoker out front that fills the air with the smell of BBQ. Definitely entices you to stop in. I ordered thee brisket plate which consisted of brisket, 2 sides (I ordered mac & cheese, and potato salad) and corn bread. Let me first say that the mac & cheese is AMAZING. It is really creamy. You can tell that it is not just thrown into an oven with some processed shredded cheese on top and baked. If there was just a huge bowl of mac & cheese I would have just ordered that. The potato salad was ok. I've had a lot better at many other different restaurants. Now to the brisket. I guess I have gotten used to getting huge slices of brisket at many other BBQ restaurants instead of little slithers of brisket. The brisket is really good, don't get me wrong. I was just expecting a bigger portion of brisket for the $12.40 that I paid for this meal. I am in no way going to say that this place is awful because it wasn't. It was good but to me personally it was not up to par with what all the other reviews say about portions. I will go back to try some other menu items in the future.

This is a very simple, inexpensive BBQ joint with clean but mismatched tables and chairs and solid food and service. Judged by what it is, a hole in the wall restaurant with a smoker out front, this is exactly what you're looking for: basic southern staples done well and served in baskets. Easygoing and tasty, and nowhere near as expensive as a fancy BBQ restaurant. I've been only once, ordering the pulled pork plate. You'll want to use sauce, but the texture on the pulled pork is very good... and it is properly pulled, not chopped. Their sauce reminds me of mid-Carolina: vinegar and spices: one sweet, one spicy. It's more liquid than thick. The cornbread are pancakes, and fairly straightforward. The slaw is fresh, and the okra is fantastic: perfectly fried and very flavorful. The whole plate was hard to finish, and I'm a big guy who was hungry. My wife had the BBQ nachos with pork (she's originally from California), and really enjoyed it. She noted that it was the perfect size, leaving her pleasantly full. It is a bit out of the way (we live on the other side of Nashville), but it beats the heck out of any of the chain and fast food places that fill the area. When we find ourselves near there, we plan to go back.
