Why write good commit messages, the internals of Git
Although this is 4 years old, it still applies today. I forward this URL to every new person coming to git because it is that important why Git needs them. The reason why it is important to write them in the first place is because:
- An at a glance view to quickly read what the commit is about, useful for reviewers and release notes. Clear explanation.
- Maintaining code that tells the developer what was the intent of committing that change. Faster to track down a change.
- Allows you to take advantage of Git console/app features.
So make sure you write proper Git messages, it makes your peers, et el happy :)
