Join NowThis News as we chat with participants in the Millennial Trains Project, a non-profit endeavor that crowd-sources cross-country journeys "that empower diverse groups of enterprising and civic-minded Millennials to explore America's new frontiers." Plus, the train looks totally #sick.

We'll get the low-down from these adventurous humans on what they expect to contribute to the experience before they embark on August 8th, and what motivated them towards living on a fast-moving vehicle with a bunch of strangers in the first place.

Participants include:

Alison Carney 

A recording artist & songwriter from Washington, DC. After studying Politics and French at Mount Holyoke College, she has immersed herself in the art world and uses her music to inspire, enlighten, and teach others all over the world.

Gregory Wilson 

A career college student; currently a PhD student at the University of Georgia majoring in Learning, Design, and Technology in the Education Department. Also has a background in computer science with a BS from Georgia Tech and a MS from Virginia Tech. 

Katelyn Bryant-Comstock

An MPH candidate at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health in the department of Maternal and Child Health.  Focusing on family planning and reproductive health, Katelyn was most recently a Global Health Fellow at IntraHealth International where she analyzed family planning programs for the upcoming third International Conference on Family Planning.

Matthew Stepp

A Senior Policy Analyst with the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) specializing in climate change and clean energy policy. He's a meteorologist by trade from Philadelphia and has previously studied or worked at he Breakthrough Institute, Millersville University, and the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Ann Yang 

A lover of humans, great conversation and brunch. A student at Georgetown University in the Walsh School of Foreign Service. Out to prove that creativity and strategy actually mean the same thing. Fan of: porches, hammocks, dinner parties & dirty kitchens, endorphins and laughter. Recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship and Daniel's Fund Scholarship 2011

Jason D'Mello

A PhD Candidate/Instructor in the  Entrepreneurship and Management Department of the University of Louisville's College of Business. In 2011, he founded Idea Mornings - a monthly breakfast talk series aimed to spark to new ideas [before business hours] for making Louisville better.
