Story
Originally dubbed the Golden Sun saloon – purchased in 1905 by president Teddy Roosevelt – the iconic property re-opened in Downtown LA as the Golden Gopher in 2004 by Cedd Moses' acclaimed 213 Hospitality, the first hospitality developer to stake a claim in the neighborhood's historically significant buildings by reinventing them into cultural destinations. Despite its age and history, Golden Gopher remains a community attraction and everyday watering hole for both residents and visitors alike in Downtown LA. Open nightly 365 days a year, Golden Gopher features original exposed brick, custom-designed glass chandeliers, 16 craft beers on tap, and old-school video game tables. Golden Gopher's original 1905 liquor license is still valid today, allowing for on-site sales and packaged liquor to-go at the bar's storefront operated by Bar Keeper – the popular barware and spirits shop located in LA's Silver Lake – offering a range of bottles, tools, and glassware for purchase.

Golden Gopher is located at 417 West 8th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90014 and is open everyday, 365 days a year, from 5 PM to 2 AMhttp://213nightlife.com/goldengopher
