We've moved +indiespace back to its true home today -- in honor of National Video Games Day! After launching our original site for online indie arts and entertainment in 1994 -- +kaleidospace -- +Pete Markiewicz and I rebranded the site as "Indiespace" a few years later and focused heavily on the "stay independent" mantra. Now, Indiespace is undergoing a new change -- partnering with sister company +Novy Unlimited to showcase the best of indie games before expanding into all forms of creative expression. We have a teaser available at http://indiespace.com for now. More to come :) #nationalvideogamesday
Happy National Video Games Day! We're proud to announce that Indiespace -- home for indie arts and entertainment online since 1994 under the +kaleidospace umbrella -- is emerging from its temporary home on Ning and becoming its own space again. We have a preview available now at http://indiespace.com featuring games from our sister company, +Novy Unlimited. Stay tuned -- and "stay independent"! #nationalvideogamesday

+Tim Berners-Lee: His legacy (as documented in ForEveryone.net) and his newest project, Solid -- re-decentralizing the web. I'm all for it :)
The history of the World Wide Web is chronicled in ForEveryone.Net -- a short film directed by Jessica Yu. In +TechCrunch, Devin Coldeway interviews Yu and +Tim Berners-Lee -- who discusses the "re-decentralization of the web," an intriguing topic ... since the web is decentralized by design: "Now people feel very disempowered because ... they’re telling their computer who their friends are, and who’s in the photographs, and planning things and designing things." Berners-Lee and others at the +Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are working on a project called Solid -- a "linked-data" platform that acts as a file system with the web as its interface: "Right now we have the worst of both worlds, in which people not only cannot control their data, but also can’t really use it. Our goal is to develop a web architecture that gives users ownership over their data.”
