As part this weekend's Crisis Mappers conference in New York (crisismappers.net), I (and my team) got a lesson in crowdsourcing the hard way: canvassing the city's Union Square (and Twitter,@beweirdnyc) to get people's best and weirdest stories from the square, as part of a conference-wide mapping challenge on Saturday.

These best-of stories we transcribed/Youtube'd and mapped to the location they happened, with Hershey kisses as thanks for getting passerby's permission to post their story. A good conference, and a mapping experience I won't soon forget (with some really fun if not totally SFW stories too, check them out).
