I produce honey, there is notcost of goods, but I like to value my inventory. I may collect 100kg of raw honey, I want to see that honey in my report with a value. I may decide later that that honey is a certain type lets say type x and would like to move it to a new measurable valued at a different value.
When selling type x I would like to reduce the inventory of type x, if none instock then reduce the value of the raw honey it is made from.
Is this possible? Any screenshots of accounts and rules would be good.
Thanks

When you increase (debit) inventory you need to credit something. That credit is normally cash because you pay for it. I guess you could credit an income account like "Earned honey revenue". I guess the amount would be the sales price. So you do a journal like in the manufacturing videos but you debit inventory (positive number) and credit "Earned honey revenue" (credits are a negative number).

When selling type x you reduce the inventory of x. You cannot set up such a rule to reduce y if there is no x. It would tell you not enough x and you have to go back and record the manufacture of x.
