I go to Lai's for two reasons, to modify existing wardrobe pieces, like older shirts and pants, and the other reason is when I buy something new. Each new item get's the Lai's treatment right away. Over time they have come to know exactly what I want and exactly what I need. The price is right, the turn around is consistent and they'll do rush jobs if you are short on time. If I need a jacket tailored for the upcoming weekend they will knock it out over a night or two. When someone says, "Hey great Jacket" I take one of Lai's cards out of my pocket for them...yes, I keep his cards on me. They are that good over there.

they did a fine job hemming my pants but it was in and out and no one said a word to me. an odd experience really.

I used Lais Alterations for years (10 or more) and they did a lot of good alterations work for me during that time but recently they made 3 consecutive mistakes and would not admit the error was theirs, the younger of the 2 men has been extremely grumpy with me and I've stopped going to them.

One of the best, if not the best tailor in Boulder. Very cheap, but very good quality also.

A friend recommended Lai's, but unless I'm really broke I won't use them again. I had them do an extremely simple hem job on a sheath dress and when I picked it up their stitching was already loose and coming undone. VERY unfriendly staff--every person person either glared at me or ignored me.

Lai's is probably the cheapest tailor in town. They do good work and it comes back in a fair amount of time. However, they aren't very friendly and it feels as if the customer is inconveniencing them during fittings. While it is downtown, parking can be difficult.
