Folks #camping in the metro Atlanta area had this to wake up to this morning! Not very many Happy #Campers were rolling out of there sleeping bags to the joy of frigid temperatures. Precisely why hot meals at #camp are a specialty this time of year. Check some of them out in Episode 180.

Always prepare yourself for emergency repairs at #camp. I have found myself in this situation before. Keep handy a lantern pump repair kit and a replacement generator. You never know when your trusted equipment might fail in the middle of a #camping trip. Just as important, have a few packages of mantles within arms reach and the necessary tools to get the job done. Preparation is the key to any successful camping trip.

Talk about an adrenaline rush! Just fired up my three-burner #camp stove for the first time in more than twelve years. This is the feeling you get after weeks of refurbishing a priceless gem you don’t want to let go of. This afternoon I installed a new pump on the fuel tank, and re-sealed all the fittings on the generator after discovering a leak. For now, I’m just sitting here, reminiscing of the #camping trip I went on back in 1996 when I took a match to these burners for the very first time.

Just finished re-assembling my classic three-burner Coleman #camp stove. The entire unit was completely sanded down, painted, and looking totally awesome. During the refurbishing process, I was able to track down some new burners. Just installed them yesterday. I was hoping to locate a new manifold as well but had no such luck. I went ahead and cleaned up the old one as best as I could. Today, I’ll be scrubbing down the grate which will definitely require a little time and patience. Just yesterday I discovered the pump needs to be replaced. I’ll pick that up tomorrow as well as an extra one to keep on hand. Can’t wait to see those beautiful blue flames come to life once again.

Every now and then, we as #campers must become inspired, and encourage ourselves to venture into the outdoors. Sometimes, all it takes is firing up our classic #Coleman lanterns in a secluded environment...then, sitting back, closing our eyes, and imagining ourselves in that special world, away from all the stress and hassles of everyday life.

I’m living that moment as I speak! How terrific life is to be a Happy #Camper!

Ordered this awesome “Royal Gourmet” heavy-duty storage bag for my three-burner propane grill. Conveniently stores the entire grill along with attachments, propane hose, operator’s manual, and plenty of room for a few extra goodies I may choose to toss in. It just found its way down to the accessory building where it now joins the Happy #Camper Radio family of fine #camping gear. Not to be sitting idle too long for sure.

Two-way radios make great Christmas gifts for the #campers in your life. You’ll never appreciate how useful they are until you go #camping in an area that lacks cell phone reception. Stay in touch with those you love. This set is a little pricey at $79. but has a range of up to thirty-eight miles. Watch how fast they come running back to #camp when you announce dinner is ready. Again, remember to buy batteries.
