I visited the Sunken Gardens first then I came here, what a transition! From tamed to wild, it was surprising to experience the two back to back. There are some amazing birds to check out here, I won't spoil the surprise. We got a chance to see several fresh baby gators and a decent sized one nearby, probably the mother. I've never seen eagles hovering right before diving into the water and popping back up with a fish caught in its talons. Don't let $3 get in between you and an amazing experience. Bring a drivers license and the kind staff there will happily lend you a pair of great binoculars, some things are best seen far away from a safe distance.

Had an AWESOME time today with my 13 y/o son. Dave, the Shuttle Driver/Volunteer was extremely knowledgeable, he provided an incredible amount of information making for a great experience. Plus, I got to hold a Tarantula, a snake and a bat. (I don't like any of those things). It was a great way to spend part of the afternoon.

Trails are so peaceful. Lots of wildlife near the water trails and island. Saw a gator, racoon family, tons of huge birds, cardinals, and cute squirrels! All in about an hour. Trails close at 530 not 6 as posted, so beware. Great spot.

A nice little walk around some nature preserved areas. $3 to get in, which is fair when you see the animals and birds on display. It was a very windy January Saturday when we visited so we escaped the windy beaches for a nice walk around. Learned from the many signs on the trail about nature, and the sculptures are just wonderful. We even found some geo-caches which made it even more enjoyable. I recommend this place!

This park is nice to ride bikes on pave road. I like the animals they have at the park. Make sure you have plenty of water it gets hot a the park. The lake is nice to. I don't think a lot of people know about this park unless you live in St. PETE . You have to go through a neighborhood to get to it not off a main road.
