I'd really like to emphasize the end of this post asking for help translating Awesome RSS. The linked issues are great for first-time contributors on GitHub, and they require nearly zero coding knowledge other than producing valid JSON.

My experience learning to build Web Extensions and the success of Awesome RSS https://shgysk8zer0.github.io/posts/2018/03/02/awesome-rss/

So, this community seems to have developed a bit of a spam problem. Either that or a bunch of people are posting a bunch of random / useless stuff and don't realize that it's too the Firefox community.

Here are a few snippets I came up with for easy event-driven async code. Used together, they can make some complex tasks much easier and cleaner.

Not really intended as a tutorial, but PWAs have a lot of potential. If nothing else, consider the possibility of Service Workers + WebAssembly + WebVR + GamePad API!

Especially when they start being listed in the Windows Store (expected April, 2018, likely with other OSs to follow).

I'm pretty excited about this being a thing that exists. I've always tried to avoid adding official share buttons to sites, bloating them like crazy.

So I made a shim of sorts.

Now, I can add share buttons all I want by adding a button with the `data-share` attribute. Can share pages, articles, images, etc.

Just added a hacked in bit of support for navigator.share using <dialog>s and the URL API.

It's not, and never can be, as good as native support. But at least I have a nice way of sharing things now.

Here's my first add-on - It puts a subscribe icon back into the Awesome bar (URL bar) when a website has #RSS or Atom subscriptions.

Working on handling multiple subscription options. Will be in v0.2.

So, I finally contributed to an Open Source project.

Firefox is removing their share API, and this is an add-on that somewhat replaces the functionality provided. It is suggested by Mozilla in the release notes of Firefox 57.

Having done some work on sharing before, I helped out by adding some SVG icons and rewriting the URL queries using URLSearchParams. Opened my first pull request last night.

Still lacking compared to the original. Maybe I'll help some more to have it more functional by the time 57 hits stable.
