Tom Gregory: Considering that a theory of neutrinos exceeding light existed long before this experiment I'm baffled why scientists are baffled. That's the reason theories exists. To provide a claim to validate through experimentation.
Tom Gregory: Ah, now that I've read the article I see the issue. The scientists aren't baffled. The BBC news editors are baffled. Apparently they are unaware that exceptions to Einstein's theory of relativity have been found before and this isn't nearly as shocking to people who know about these things as it is to reporters who like attention grabbing headlines.
