Clean and simple, with a wonderful view of mainstreet Sligo and the river. This hotel's location is walking distance to everything and the main reason I stay here when visiting. I could do without Art Deco theme, but it somehow fits. Wonderful staff. Parking garage available for only 2EUR/day.

Beautiful bedroom, comfortable bed and nice optionals (balcony, smart TV, ...). Although I found the breakfast a bit disappointing...

What can I say about this hotel? - Honestly, nothing positive. The rooms are too expensive for what they are. Breakfast very elementary, I can say with confidence, that breakfast in a McDonalds has probably higher standards. The staff was quite rude, as they took over an hour to bring in a pizza, when presented it was burned all over (not crispy, but partly black burned) - as I complained the staff (even the manager) went aggressive. This is a no go in a hotel! The only "plus" really is the location, but you should ask yourself, if that is worth the stay and last but not least the price...

This is not going to be a good review, I just had an experience I wont forget, I will never book the Glass house for a party again. Just about every request ask for didn't take place! 1. No table for Christening cake 2. I asked to have my room close to my daughters as I was babysitting them, instead we were put onto different floors. 3. My daughters breakfast for 5 were brought up with only two fork, two knifes and a few teaspoons. 4. We booked a party and they were complaining about music before 6pm in evening. 5. Booked 40 platters and 20 plates of sandwiches and there wasn't enough food to feed our guests. 6. Air conditioning was off on a hot day and with the heating on. 7. 7 requests for to have conditioning turned on, they said it was but I don't think so! 8. No fridge in the room for to keep babies bottles chilled. 9. Only one member of staff serving behind the bar ! 10. I collected drink glasses to put onto the bar 11. I also had a bad stomach after eating the bacon for breakfast :( I wouldn't say any of the staff were friendly at all.

The glasshouse in Sligo, is, for me a great place to chill out with a coffee. It sits on the garavogue river on the site of the former Silver Swan hotel. The decor is funky - like 70's updated for the noughties. The music in the background when I was in there was disco 80's. There was an energy about this place. I had an americano and it was fine as americano's go. The seating is comfortable and spacious. I found it great to be able to chill out on the river and watch the world go by.
