Other America is a powerful series of short videos by UK-born director, James Coulson. Coulson explores the myths and truths of his adopted country by visiting locations and people on the edges of the modern perception of America, which are increasingly being distanced from the American dream of prosperity and success. These voices are touching, tragic, and yet fiercely uplifting. Much like America itself. I spent an evening watching the series and have been thinking about it ever since.

In addition to being a powerful message about living, this video has exceptionally beautiful shots of my beloved ocean where it relentlessly kisses and pummels Oregon.

A poignant short film directed by Oregon-based filmmaker Skip Armstrong for NRS Films that tells the story of surfer Hayden Peters, who embraces the ocean as he awaits a doctor’s diagnosis concerning a hereditary condition that could cut his life short.

Tiny skeletons by Isaac Cordal. Lovely momento mori in the guise of street art.
Artist Isaac Cordal (previously) is well-known for his creation and placement of miniature cement figures in public places around the world as part of an ongoing series called Cement Eclipses. While the meaning behind each tiny sculpture is intentionally ambiguous, it's impossible to l

19th-century animation is trippy.
Film-making duo The Brothers Lynch dug up a number of animations from Victorian-era phenakistoscope discs, blending them together to create a music video for the Carly Paradis song "The Hope Of A Favourable Outcome."

Stormscapes 2 is a compilation of time-lapse video shot by landscape photographer Nicolaus Wegner in September 2014 as severe weather formed over Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Colorado.  Love this stuff.

Artists Walter Hugo & Zoniel installed a jellyfish tank in the front of an abandoned building in Liverpool, creating a portal through the deteriorating facade into a beautiful other world. The installation, titled The Physical Possibility of Inspiring Imagination in the Mind of Somebody Living, is live streamed to London's Gazelli Art House.
