Excellent shot, hope you had some Barolo at the end of the road!

Everything about the logistics of the experience was excellent. Gerry delivered the bikes when promised to our rental house in a tiny village and arranged to retrieve them after we left from the house's owner. The Bianchis (Nirone Sora, alu-carbon) were good quality, maintained well, with compact gearing sufficient to handle the hills (although I am a flatlander who probably could have used either a triple or a smaller gear than 27 in back.) The only downside was the price, about $520 for 7 days (although Gerry let us keep the bikes two extra days), a big chunk of which was delivery cost ($160). If the weather had restricted riding (which was part of my trip but not its purpose), the price would have grated on me. A longer rental would have been bank-breaking. I rent a similar bike in Hawaii for about $320 for 2 weeks (no delivery cost), which is very competitive with what the airlines charge to ship a bike. For one week, the hassle-free rental (no shipping, no reassembly) Gerry provides is undoubtedly worth it.
