PINK FLUFFY MARIANNES, DANCING ON RAINBOWS
Introduction
Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up:

I am a writer/artist/editor. I blog about body politics at The Rotund and I have a book on that same topic with Kate Harding called Lessons from the Fat-o-sphere: Quit Dieting and Declare a Truce with Your Body (it's called Screw Inner Beauty in Australia and has two different Spanish-language titles as well). I also have a weekly (sometimes more, we get excited) podcast with Lesley Kinzel called Fatcast: Two Whole Cakes which is a bit more conversation about body politics stuff.

By day, I edit and go to a lot of meetings. A lot of meetings. Yes, I'm living the dream. I love my company but, whew, meetings.

I also make stuff - a lot of different stuff. Buy stuff from me at Reclaimed Whimsy!

My hands and wrists are aching from so much letter writing by hand and lino carving. Typing is the most gentle activity I do with my hands these days. Other than stretching, Aleve, and frequent breaks, are there any tips I'm missing since my last bout with painful RSI?

To read.

As a native born and resident for a good 40+ years in Florida, I have to say, well,  _yeah_....

(However, I am not responsible for the crazy that has taken over in the last few years since I left.  I had no idea I was such a stabilizing force.)
"Mommy, is that a mountain? "No dear, that's just the landfill."

I love that this project is designed by a woman and that she tested the design with Girl Scouts. I also love velociraptors. WIN WIN.

I started my Fiat experience at a different Orlando Fiat dealership - when I never got a call back (what car salesperson doesn't call back?), I headed to Fields Fiat to see if they could help me out. Larry and Adante were both awesome. My car was a custom order (a 2012 Abarth), so I actually had to wait several months. Larry and Adante kept in touch and were super patient with my emails checking in "just in case." The whole experience was really great and I never felt like they didn't know who I was. The day I took delivery of my car, I felt like they were almost as excited as I was - and not just because they'd sold a car. And when a warning light came on before I was supposed to go out of town, Larry and Cathy (the service manager) kept in touch and went out of their way to turn my car around on really short notice - despite me being in kind of a panic. My first oil change was another smooth, great experience. The hours are not great if you don't live/work close to downtown - I work across town so it's Saturdays or nothing if I need to go in for something casual (like a car wash, which is such a nice service). But it's worth it to me to know I can call or email and folks will get back to me with a straightforward answer. I definitely recommend this dealership.
