Hello all! My background and education is in behavior change, so I have applied a very famous behavior change theory to writing.  This post basically defines the five stages a person may be in as they adopt a new behavior (e.g. starting to write and continuing to write) and the ideas and ways to progress into habitually writing.  Here's a link to the post I wrote:

I hope that maybe this can help some other would be writers out like it helped me.

I think that naming characters in your story can be a little complicated and not always as straight-forward as you first think.  My biggest critique is that often the names chosen are not age appropriate.  Also, names can often be innapropriate for the ethnicity of your character.  Anyways, that is why I wrote about 8 points I think writers commonly miss when naming their characters but need to remember to make their story more authentic.  It's full of links to a variety of naming websites and I hope that it might help someone else who is struggling to find that perfect name for their characters.

8 Points to Remember when Naming Your Characters

Hello all! I've just joined this group.  I'm an aspiring author who likes to write Southern Gothic stories mixed with magical realism.  I;m working on my very first fantasy novel.  My blog http://rummagewriter.blogspot.com/  is about what inspires me, my writing and self-publishing journey.  I'm sure its not too unique here but there you go. :-)  Anyway, I'm excited to be part of this group!
