Your words of gratitude for Nature’s Bin & Cornucopia have been overwhelming. That our work and mission have reached so many people is incredible & affirming. As you know, while our beloved Nature’s Bin has closed, Cornucopia’s work continues & the work we do changes lives. We continue to provide vocational training services through our five community-based training sites. We also help people with disabilities transition into good, long-term jobs in local businesses through our job placement services.

But we can’t do it without support from people like you. Imagine if your child, brother or sister had a disability. You would want them to be able to access compassionate & effective job training & placement so that he or she can have the opportunity to hold a job, experience the challenges of day-to-day work demands & see the joys that work brings to our lives. That’s why Cornucopia needs your support.

Please remember Cornucopia in your year-end giving. Your tax-deductible gift will change the lives of people with disabilities helping them become more financially independent and enjoy a higher quality of life. Donations, large & small, are gratefully accepted via PayPal at www.cornucopia-inc.org/donate. Thank you for your consideration.

“The FDA received comments from nearly 200,000 people, all of whom strongly urged the agency to withdraw its approval for the 30 phthalates that are used as food additives. Phthalates have been linked to a host of harmful health impacts including severe genital birth defects in boys, lower IQs, impaired reproduction and cancer.”

“I think it does take time to recalibrate your taste buds to appreciate real whole foods for how they should taste, because you’ve been eating such highly processed and hyper-palatable stuff for so long. I know a lot of people who are like, ‘This in no way replicates my pasta Bolognese.’ And I’m like, ‘Of course not. But you’ll feel better.’ ”

“Maybe there’s something biological behind our cravings. A study of twins suggested that a liking for meat is highly heritable, so there could be a genetic element. It’s also true that cultures around the world have recognized a kind of hunger that cannot be satisfied by starches or veggies. This ‘meat hunger’ is actually a hunger for protein, Zaraska concludes, and you can get that from peanut butter, lentils, or black beans.”
