The tarot is a picture book of incredible knowledge on how to work with energies on a symbolic level. By studying tarot one learns how to do magick.

Emily: Energy does follow thought exactly. That is the reason for meditation and yoga practice as it is about training the mind to be able to stay focused so that you can gain control on what you put energy into and thus create. Magick is based on skillfully applying focused energies towards manifesting certain aims, either external or internal. Symbols are mind tools used to access certain concepts and then they are energized through ritual actions. This is the art and science of magick. You should read the book, True Magick, by Amber K. Buddhists talk about mindfulness, Hindus talk about yoga, they are both the same thing. Yoga means union. Yoga is any action done with mindfulness. Physical forms of yoga are physical exercises done with mindfulness on breath and posture.

The spiritual term for what happened to him is Kundalini awakening. It is very much (an important) spiritual experience. It is the true beginning stage for a profound spiritual awakening. Unfortunately mainstream society and mainstream science does not understand what Kundalini is, but mystics, in particular mystics of India have known about it forever. The Kundalini energy lays dormant at the base of the spine in most people. This is the area called the first chakra. There are seven chakra and they are along the spine going up the body from the base of the spine to the top of the head. A chakra is an energy center. The spine is the channel for these spiritual energies. On the spine is two energy channels, one feminine and one masculine. When a person is ready to begin profound spiritual awakening people shall have some sort of experience that shall trigger this dormant energy at the base of the spine to shot upward through the energy channels of the spine activating each chakra as it raises and then firing out the top of the head. When this happens the person will go into an intense altered trance like blissful state for a bit, anywhere from some hours to some days. This Kundalini awakening pushes up much energy from a person's subconscious level and thus after this experience for a period of some months to a few years the person shall be processing all the stuff that got pushes up, working on becoming more self aware. After a person has had a Kundalini awakening their focus in life shall strongly turn more towards an interest in spiritual things, the experience shifts people's focus to the Spiritual. Some people then have further Kundalini awakenings and this deepens the spiritual awakening.

Emily: A good way to practice gratitude is with a daily ritual. You can call upon or picture in your mind whatever form of the divine you feel most close to. Can be a certain God or goddess, or angels, or whatever you feel most connected to. Make a small offering to this being or food and/or food, can just be a small bit of food. Offering food and/or drink is a way to give energy. Then say in your own words thanks for all the positive things that happened lately. By doing this you reinforce for more of the same kind of positive things to come to you in the future. Be sure and word your thanks in the positive. This words on the principles that energy follows thought. By giving thanks for good stuff we then put more energy to these good things and this is magick to make more good things.

Introduction
I am a spiritual oriented person. My main focus in life is my spiritual practices. I follow the path of Norse-Paganism (Heathenism). This is a Earth based spiritual path that honors the ancient gods and goddesses of the Vikings. I also incorporate meditation into my daily spiritual practices. I have a strong interest in forms of divination such as tarot, astrology, and the runes, and have studied all three rather extensively. I love yoga, in particular kundalini yoga. I have been strict vegetarian for over 20 years. In my vegetarianism I eat no meat, no fish, and no eggs. I try to eat mostly healthy, even getting organic when my budget allows, though I do have a weakness for sweets such as cookies and chocolate. I love working out and doing fitness activities. I enjoy bicycles as a form of transportation, and as my favorite form of exercise. Computers interest me, they are a wonderful tool for gaining knowledge. I love to learn and grow as a person. I am interested in anything that helps me to more deeply understand the human mind and psyche, and also the nature of the universe. I also love the social sciences such as psychology and anthropology. History and cultures of the past fascinate me. I try to live as simple materially as possible. I have no children and wish to keep things that way. Things I value the most in relationships are good communications, openness, honesty, and trust. Having good sexual chemistry is a must I feel. I am a very sexual person and enjoy relationships with women that are also so. I believe strongly that both genders are unique and different and compliment each other yet are very different in nature. I feel it is important to understand and honor these gender differences and in a relationship I consider it important that both adopt roles that are best suited for their gender.

★ The Misty Sands of Time

The misty sands of time swept away the dust of ages. Upon this island found I the lost mysteries of Tara and Avalon and Arthur and Merlin and as well at last the Holy Grail. Battle upon battle fought I in this misty place. The long hidden secrets of long ago magic was revealed to me through the puzzle pieces of time. Oh the well remembered cry of the raven Bran heard I many a time in this place of great loss but yet much gain. Down fell I and yet I rose again bathed in the fire of the Great Cauldron. I emerged a new more noble creature aware in many new ways.

★ Rafristingin (or the amber carvings)

These highest words hold truth indeed--
they do not waver from wisdom's path:
The boughs reach above, the roots run below--
yet one and the same is the seed of the tree,
one the wood that binds the worlds.
From fire and ice Ymir grew forth,
from Ymir's flesh all things were shaped
when Buri's kin brought forth the worlds.

From fire and ice Ymir grew forth--
Muspell's sparks melted the frost.
The High One's brothers shaped his body,
marked out Midgard as man's first home.

Hard the tree that holds the fire,
keeper and quickener of every kindred--
the tree holds that Rune wrought before all,
the Spell first spoken, that sped the worlds.

Strong is the tree, for it stands in the earth--
the ground below gives roots their might.

With skill the smith skims off the slag,
with wisdom crafts the well-made sword
that cleaves away the weak and worthless.

The rainbow rises from ripened fields--
sun-fire woven through waters above.
Over that bridge the bold one rides,
bringing the harvest that home fields gave;
from Asgard he fetches the fiery gold.
Homeward he rides, holding within him
the fire that thwarts the thurses' cold.

These are staves stronger than all:
like Sunna's shield that shines through the clouds,
blazes through ice and breaks its hold.

This is the way that worlds were made.

Thus also the wise bring wonders forth.

Now you shall know what names are mine:
I am the High One, the Highest and Third:
I am the Galdor-God who hung
between the worlds to win the runes;
Odin, Allfather, eldest of gods.

Now the spell is spoken through--
the High One's song in the hall has ended.

★ My Religion

I am a solitary liberal modernist Heathen. Heathenism is a reconstruction of the religion of the Vikings or related cultures. It is a form of Pagan religion. I follow the Norse gods (the Vanir and the Aesir), but am neither a Wiccan nor a strict reconstructionist. My focus is on the spiritual aspects of Heathenism and forms of practice that makes Heathenism valid for the modern times, and present day needs. I am a devotee of the goddess Freyja, and loyal to the ways of the Vanir, though I also of course honor the Aesir. The study of the runes is also part of my religion. They are used for both divination and magick.

You might be oriented towards the Vanir if…

You love sex. ✓

You have a foot fetish. ✓

You like ships and boats and being near or on water. ✓

You like nature. ✓

You tend to be polyamorous. ✓

You like peace and harmony. ✓

You like things of beauty. ✓

You tend to prefer natural and healthy foods. ✓

★ Other Spiritual Traditions I like

I also like the Hindu Shakti tradition and most of all the tantric aspects of it, and am interested in Sri Vidya. My favorite Hindu deity is the goddess Sri Lalita-Tripurasundari. I love yoga and practice it various ways. My favorite form of yoga is Kundalini Yoga and I often practice it and related forms of meditations. I also enjoy power yoga at times. I have practiced Chinese Buddhism before, which is by far my favorite form of Buddhism. I love the deep symbolic knowledge contained in the tarot and have extensively studied it and as well have lots of divination experience using the tarot. I like western astrology, the more complicated kind that involves calculating exact birth charts. I have a great deal of respect for the New Orleans Voodoo tradition and have enjoyed some amazing Voodoo rituals at the time I used to live in New Orleans. Have gone to a few Native American inspired sweat lodges, they are very powerful. I like the Unitarian Universalist Church for it's positive focus and since it embraces all world religions. I love the deep esoteric knowledge of the Theosophical tradition. Most of all I am a spiritual person that enjoys connecting with the divine in all forms and ways, and I honor all positive religions and uplifting spiritual and metaphysical practices of the universe and beyond.

★ Things I Don't Tolerate

Just a quick note about what kinds of things I don't tolerate. I don't tolerate religious extremists (even ones of my own religion), people who think their way is the only valid right way, dogmatic idiots, people who want to try to convert me or anyone to their particular religion, people who enjoy bashing others, people who enjoy telling others that they are wrong, people who enjoy arguing or starting fights, people who enjoy making drama, racists, anyone who judges other peoples sexuality or sexual orientation in any form, anyone who judges other peoples lifestyle choices, mean spirited people, people filled with hate, people who think their religious morels should apply to everyone even people who don't follow their religion, people who make rules for something yet then don't even follow them themselves, people with a lack of compassion for others, narrow-minded people, monetarily greedy people, people with no respect for the natural environment, people who are against spirituality, people who are against religion, people with no respect for the culture of others, people who think their culture should be forced on everyone in the whole world, people with no respect for world native indigenous cultures. Anyone who tries to promote any of these things in comments or any form of communications towards me shall be blocked and have their comments rejected.

★ Political Views

I am a Progressive. I can't stand the Republicans; they are a party of haters nowadays. I also can't stand the Democrats, they are a party that stands for nothing. MY political views are not mainstream for an American. I am pro-environmental protection, pro-choice, anti big corporation, against empire building/oil wars, in favor of programs which help the poor, believe strongly in separation of church and state, pro small business, in favor of equal rights for people of all sexual orientations to marry whom they want to, believe that the tax codes should be simplified and all the tax write offs for big businesses eliminated, believe that renewable energy resources need to become the main energy sources, am strongly in support of bicycle as a form of transportation, strongly pro public transportation, and for the idea of the government paying for everyone to go to college like how things are in Europe.

My viewpoints on genders through are very traditional in some aspects and I am against feminism, though I do believe that men and women should have equal legal and workplace rights. I feel that it is important for women to be what women are and men to be what men are and for them not to try to be the same, as both are unique as what they are, and are of equal importance but compliment each other as unique and different. I feel that when both try to be the same then it becomes hard for men and women to maintain enjoyable relationships with each other. I feel that men should be in charge and that women should be of a supporting role, in terms of personal relationships. This kind of arrangement more suits the ways that human emotions have developed over the majority of the time of human development.

I strongly support a women's rights to have control over reproductive aspects of her body, including her rights to terminate pregnancy if she wishes to. This means I strongly believe in making birth control very easily accessible and affordable (or ideally free).

I feel that women should not be judged negatively for having sexual wants and for acting upon them, even with many partners, so long as she does so in a safe responsible way. Actually I feel it is good to encourage women to be as sexual as possible as their natural and proper nature is deeply connected to intense sexuality. I believe the term slut is a positive term and should be used as a compliment towards women who are truly in touch with their sexuality and willing to act on their needs; to do so is an extremely good thing. I believe the free expression of sexuality by both genders is a good thing. I feel that repressing the sexuality of either gender leads to a weak and unhealthy society.

I think that nudity and sexuality should be allowed to be shown on TV shows that are geared towards an adult audience. Actually I feel that violence should not be allowed on TV shows geared for general audiences as much as it is now. Even I feel there should not be laws prohibiting public nudity or any laws disallowing public sexual expression done between consenting adults.

I feel that science, religion, and spirituality are not at odds with each other, but are just pursuing the same goals (the betterment of the human condition), but starting from different directions. We are starting to see at this point in history that in some areas science and religion are starting to come together in some areas of understanding. This is most apparent in the areas of quantum physics at this time, but these areas of shared perspective shall grow as science grows in it's understanding of what the nature of reality is actually comprised of.

I believe that people should be allowed to immigrate to other countries and given opportunities to do so. The culture of a place grows when the people of that country are exposed to the culture of other ethnic groups. All throughout all of human history the greatest leaps in technology and human ideas have come about though the interaction of different ethnic cultures together. Without this culture exchange of ideas between ethnic groups, cultural ideas tend to stagnate and impede social progress. The mixing together of new things from other sources is the way all things in the universe grow stronger. When only the same is being constantly mixed together, things become weakened. This is a law of how nature itself works. In more ancient times in which war between different ethnic groups was very common, this process of the need to gather in ideas and even as well DNA from other ethnic groups happened through the process of war. When an enemy was defeated their women would be captured and then be made to be part of the conquering group, and of course these women would in time be made to marry the men of the conquering group, and some taken as slaves also (and likely made to provide sexual pleasure for the men who have enslaved them). End some of the men of the group that has been defeated may be made to be slaves also, but the ancient world concept of slavery generally included the chance for the slave to eventually work their way towards being a free person again. Of course freed slaves would then become a normal part of the culture group they had previously been enslaved in, and likely also reproduce within that group and contribute to the diversity of the groups DNA. Also in some cultures such as the northern ones which the Vikings derived from, it was common to encourage traveling strangers that visit to sleep with your wife so that new DNA can be interjected into the group, and then the man would adopt any child that resulted as his own (this practice is shown in the Rígsþula from the Poetic Edda). Another practice common with the Vikings, and the cultures the Vikings derived from, was the exchange of hostages when a war does not have a clear winner and it is decided to call a truce. The Norse form of hostage exchange involved the hostages becoming part of the new group they are made to live in and then living by it's culture and social rules. Of course many such hostages then would end up marrying into people from the group they have now come to life with, and the children of the hostages would become a normal part of this new group. Thus from all these things in no way did the DNA or even the culture of various groups stay the same. It was always mixing with outside ethnic groups and thus keeping the culture and physical health of that ethnic group strong by mixing in elements from the outside. The concept of different human “races” is a 19th century idea that has no basis in actual science or reality. Even cultural groups such as the Vikings had no concept of different ethnic groups, only the concept of people from other tribes, or people that follow different gods/goddesses than them (but they even did not until the late period have the concept of different religions). This concept of people from other tribes had nothing to do with the physical appearance of the other people, but instead only on that groups social allegiance. In truth the physical makeup of any ethnic group is just a mixture of different physical traits which that group of people evolved towards over long periods of time living in a certain area of the planet. Humans over long periods of time if they live in smaller isolated groups (as was the case in the past) will physically develop traits that help them best able to adopt to the weather and climate conditions of their area. These are well known facts by anyone with any knowledge of the social sciences, but unfortunately there are many people out there who are afraid of loosing their own ingrained ethnic culture and have backwards 19th century ideas of there being different human “races”. This issue is further encouraged by the fact that many US governmental bureaucratic forms that people have to fill out, which incorrectly ask a person what their “race” is. It would be more correct to ask what someone's ethnic background is. Ethnic background is related to the language a person speaks and the related social culture that language group has developed.

I feel strongly that many copyright and patent laws go too far and that more knowledge should be considered open source and part of the collective commons of human knowledge. Human society is built on the sharing of knowledge. Documents, drawings, photos, audio recordings including music, art, books, stories, movies and TV shows, items from the past, even computer programs, these are all forms of knowledge. They all enhance human awareness on some level. In modern times we are lucky in that we have more ways to share knowledge and more tools for doing so more quickly. In ancient times there often was only stories and forms of sculpture for sharing knowledge. Thus we now live in a time, at least for now, in which human knowledge can grow quickly. All this knowledge needs to be part of the collective commons of humanity for it to most help human society to grow in awareness and spiritual progress. Yes I do feel that not only individuals but whole societies grow spiritually. We live in a time in which society is also to make a huge spiritual leap very quickly. The spiritual level of the society as a whole strongly effects the basic level of spiritual awareness that it's citizens start off at, even without them pursuing an individual spiritual path. This is a good thing for all as the more spiritually aware a society is, the more enjoyable life is for all beings on the planet, and the more connected we are to the divine as well.

★ Bragging rights

Once rode my bicycle 207 miles in one day. Hitchhiked across the country a few times. Lived nomadically for several years while on a spiritual journey to seek the meaning of life the universe and everything. Started using computers back in the 70s before most people. I build my own desktop computer. I know how to install and use the Linux operating system. Been through Hurricane Katrina getting out of New Orleans the day before but still experiencing the weakened brunt of it in Mississippi. Have been to 44 US states and 3 Canadian providences. Have lived in 7 US states and in some of those states several different places. Used to hang out with people who truly believed they were vampires, but none of them ever tried to bite me. Taken part in some huge American Revolutionary War reenactment battles. Worked for several years in world famous Jackson Square in New Orleans as a tarot card reader giving tarot readings to many people of all walks of life from all over the world. Have been on a New Orleans Mardi Gra parade float tossing Mardi Gra beads to massive crowds of people. Taken part in a co-ed naked bicycle ride through the downtown of a town I used to live in. Been to large hippie camping gatherings in the wilderness. Danced and partied at goth night clubs. Been to kinkster, swinger, and BDSM parties. Have drank absinthe and mead. Been to lots of powerful spiritual rituals of many types. Have been to areas with intense spiritual earth energies. Seen some very intensely beautiful places. Been to a talk by the Dalai Lama, his accent is very thick so was hard to understand him but he sure seemed to be having fun! Seen the White Buffalo, an important spiritual animal avatar in the Native American tradition, in Janesville Wisconsin. Seen a true Native American dance ceremony at a remote reservation (I was passing threw traveling and stopped at the grocery store there and got invited by locals) in the desert south-west, was no tourists there, was the real thing. Have camped for a night on top of a tall building, was so windy the tent would have blown away if I didn't have my heavy backpack in it to keep it put. Met plenty of weird and interesting people, some of them even weirder than me! I have been living a unique and very interesting life!
