Was hooked on Radio Broadcasting, from age 12, when I had small parts in several radio plays. Became professional broadcaster in Harare (then named Salisbury). Hitch-hiked and worked my passage, aboard a cargo ship, arriving in England, where I became a freelance interviewer, presenter and writer, for radio and TV. Joined Capital Radio, at its launch. Returned to South Africa, at the start of TV there, working in the TV Newsroom. Also presented programmes on Radio RSA. Returned to UK, in 1978, where I again worked in radio. Now (officially) retired, I am a Franchisee with 2-Legs Ltd, an online bookseller.
