To get more gain on a microphone, is it possible to daisy-chain devices? ... Specifically: Microphone >> Scarlett 2i2 (XLR in; line out) >> Mackie mixer >> Tascam DR-40 portable recorder. ... Which would give me 3 places to add gain. Is that correct? Any downsides to this set-up?

Two questions:

1. What should I do when iTunes suddenly stops updating my show listing? (I posted another episode about 10 days ago, and although I see it in my podcast app, it doesn't show up in the iTunes store. And I notice the same thing has happened to a variety of other shows to which I subscribe.)

2. What happened to the 'Search' box on the G+ community pages (like this one)? I can't find it anymore.

Thanks!

Gear question: How would you record a Skype interview on the road with only a smart phone (w/Skype app), external recorder w/ XLR connections, and ATR2100?

Q about iTunes search:  Imagine you have a podcast called  *KEVIN PLAYS VIOLIN* . It's about the life and music of Kevin Turlington.

For iTunes keywords, you use:  _"Kevin Turlington, violin, music, Mozart"._

When you search on "Kevin" - the show appears in search results (because iTunes sees the keyword in the title, I assume).

But when you search on "Kevin Turlington" -- nothing comes up in search.

Why? (What am I doing wrong with the keywords?)

(Thanks in advance.)

ADVICE NEEDED: My 2008 MacBook Pro finally died & I need to replace it. Is the MacBook Air (flash memory) a muscular enough computer for audio production?
